I would say its a fair result for the panthers. After 30 plus years of palmy officials looking the other way,or changing results, of rigging the draw so top teams face each other on qualifying nights, and of the panthers always racing there first race against a team that has already done one race, I say these results are down right justified and great to see! Go the bAyyyyyyyyyy!!!! Anyone out there agrees, give this post a like hahahahaha Hadleigh, Hadleigh, Hadleigh, I know you're a little excited, but........ You're sounding awfully like busterbell, talking about things that happened 20 years ago as if they're still happening today!! The top teams these days are always seeded apart, the Panthers opening race is 2 fresh teams together while their second race sees both teams on their second race of the night. When you say "Go the Bayyyyyyyyyyyyy", you do mean Baypark, right? Let's do it on the terracotta, Barry B

To all those enjoying my previous post - looks like a spoke too soon, or perhaps the truth again reveals itself. Panthers now miraculously have enough points to make semifinals. I should have known better!! The palmy plan strikes again No, the 4 group winners go through........... Let's do it on the terracotta, Barry B

At stoccar teams thay told us that they were guna be tough in infield infringement and i think that if a car offends thay should be takien off then and there so they dont influence the race anymore. I didnt see miers or joblins offences they must of been justified. I saw a couple offence last night that tjat i couldnt beleave my eyes that they werent remove. 1 of which was proberly the worst case of seeking santuary ive ever seen but hey im not a ref.

Everyone can have their views...
Mine is that as a paying spectator...I always feel robbed of a decent spectacle everytime a driver gets taken to the infield.
I dont care if its the PANTHERS, TIGERS or whoever.....
There has to be some other way to sort this out. When you have 15,000 people in a packed stadium.....we are THERE TO WATCH racing... a contest... gladiators doing it.
Cheers

Seems like everyone is wide awake pretty early there in NZ this morning aye... Right can anyone shed some light on what was stated at the drivers briefing before the racing commenced last night?? I can't see that the officials would make that many calls without having gone over some some key refferring areas before starting?? If these were, it would have been a good idea to blead these out to the supporters before/during the meeting?? That's normally part of what I do, but am not there this year. Let's do it on the terracotta, Barry B

I was there, and Yes I support the panthers, Its amazing to me that there is people at the track saying that the "P" was smashed, I guess that is correct, the "P" was smashed BUT by the Ref,s If I was a Bay supporter, yes I would love the win, but I would not be boasting about it. The ref,s Is there some penalty for them. In any other sport, if the ref made such out there calls that clearly caused the result of any contest, then that ref would be name shamed and dropped to a lower div.
We all know the calls on Podjursky, Joblin and Miers were Crap. No matter who you support.

put a mike in the refs box. as a car is removed the ref announces what the exclusion was for. that way we get it from the horses mouth. may even be accompanied by replay on the big screen. what I find most frustrating is not knowing what the exclusion was for and then listening to speculation from the commentators box or confirmation halfway thru the next race. same with Humphrey allowed to ride the wall for the last lap. it would be good for the ref to explain the reasoning as it conflicts with the rule book. if wall riding is allowed in teams then that negates the howling from last year when Miers did it in the rain and all and sundry called him a cheat.

Finally Palmy get a call or 2 against them, like many other teams get every year and the calls are labeled 'bad' etc. Get down off your high horse and put up with the 'bad' calls like everyone else gets every year.

If you're talking about me (since I started the thread and you don't say who you're actually talking too), rest assured I ain't no Palmy supporter so haven't made the post based on "bad" calls against "my" team. Whats stopping the racing tonight being a joke like last night, just like an overbearing referee blowing his whistle all the time and ruining a rugby match.First time in ten years of teams racing that I have decided not to go back so off to the sevens and not a P supporter either. cheers.

For me Bruce puts the best show on at running any speedway meeting in nz today,i have to say sometimes i do come away some nights trying to work out some of the calls some make on the night (SIDECARS).It looks like some of the calls last night have upset some out there so be it.Its going to take some work to get the track up and running for tonight as long as we dont get any more rain, look at the way Bruce got the track up and running for there last big meeting.
