Yip Gavin was drafted into the team at the last minute as Brads partner went into labour that day.

Yes Huntly a couple of weeks ago... Hence my comments regarding him being 6th driver. If Hodgey is not in the team for Nats at WP, I will retire my cowbell!!!!! Exciting times for ALLSTARS

Just a pity the Spike Richardson award wasnt given to Carl as he was the stand out driver of the weekend for more than one reason. Not to take anything away from Kyle H but I didnt see as much from him as we did from Carl.

Yes, this team has a huge future. Am pleased to have been a honoury Aucklander for the weekend. Was working on Brads car at Rees workshop when I was told I got the call up. From an outsiders point of view was really impressed with how Dave Tennant, Neil McCord and Bryce Marx ran the teams meetings and how the three young guys Scot, Jamie and Carl stayed composed throughout the meeting and drove like veterans all weekend, to get 5th and beat the Panthers was unreal. I must apologise for my driving, as I wasn't used to clutch over brake and the two lever raptor box, a few stalls going on out there lol. Huge thanks to Phil and Brad Ridland for the use of there car. Brand new Hartley nissan fired up for the first time the night before teams. I want a Superstock!!!!!! Thanks to the ALLSTARS for accepting my crew and I into your team. Congratulations to Brad and Stacey on the birth of there twin girls. Gavin Taniwha 5a/75p

That was a stunning Palmy debut Carl , also Scott Tennant, his talents also super impressive. The most excited I've been by an Auckland Allstars team in many a long year. I'm definitely dragging myself up to the Big Smoke in a few weeks for the Teams Nationals.

The new Nissan in the Ridland car sounded superb too. The Allstars were the best I have seen them for a long time. Great smart teamwork, and 110% commitment. (did you see the state of the Marx car after qualifying night!?). Carl showed a glimmer of what he was capable of when messing with Stevie P at the GP repercharge, and then last week at WP really turned it on against Team GB.(after a 5 minutes to go call up). This weekend confirmed he is going to be a big future talent in Teams - how many spares you got in the shed Gary?

What an awesome weekend of teams racing. The All Stars were undoubtedly the team of the weekend led brilliantly by Bryce Marx who really put his car and body on the line against the Scrappers. Carl you were awesome and truly have a big future. In all the years I have been going to the teams I've never ever had a grin as big as the one I had on Saturday night when you took the flag against the Panthers. To the whole team a huge congratulations and a big thanks to Gavin for stepping in at such short notice. Well done!!!

I'm just so glad the car Bryce was driving (63a) had a roll cage built from the old pipe!
Beginning that there have been no real world tests of schedule 40 pipe (except for the huge fail at WP last season) who knows what the outcome might have been.
Just goes to show that there is nothing wrong with the old standard of pipe and our design of roll cage.

Gavin Taniwha 5a/75p Looking back on the 2005 teams dvd when I raced for the Allstars watching a grinning Gavin Taniwha when I took the flag against the Rebels He was sitting on the straight near the start finish line, 2014 the roles were reversed I was sitting about the same spot lol
