What have the fans done to be subjected to Six Shooters on the Friday Night of a $30 show?? Seems like we are being punished for something.
At least Saturday Night looks good.

My thoughts too Percy. Usually Friday night is a bit cheaper than Saturday although Friday has more teams races. Saturday is mouth watering....
Paul, as an outsider looking in I've been baffled for the last four seasons of teams at Palmy to not see your name in the All Stars when you repeatedly hear how hard it is for Auckland to field a team. I have acknowledged in previous posts the great job done by the young lads in Palmy last month but you need the experienced drivers to help these guys come through. There's no substitute for experience. I hope you manage to raise an 8th team and I wish you all the very best if you do but would be great to see you in All Stars colours. Auckland need to select the best drivers if they are to be a force to be reckoned with in the future.

it could be worse on Friday though.... we could be at the frog pond watching the tadpoles leaping..its open again...I heard they found the family of pigmeys they were searching for on the dark side of a crater along the back straight, helicopters were brought in to rescue the family off the cliff, also found was a quick change diff and two rear wheels and what looks like a 1950's style tq chassis, police are concerned they may have lost two rescue dogs in the first attempt on sunday morning...though handlers are hopeful the dogs will still find their way out alive. Marijuana growers in the area are on "high alert" as police squads scour the springs track looking for further evidence of what insiders believe is a 30 plant stash situated just out of turn 4......local officials dont want to comment till all the valleys and mountains have been fully searched for survivors but have already denied the man found wandering the turns in terrible physical condition with a six foot long beard is in fact P.P.Mercer, a competitor at the 1969 championship who went missing during racing nearly 50 years ago.

Thinking that a 7 or 8 team format is a one night deal. Meeanee did this week just gone.
$30 bucks per person per night is a little steep for the programme. Same as Palmy without the number of teams.

I hear the Dirt Cup winning 2nz Modified of Mike Gourley is still in town, so that's good news for the Auckland Champs field. Let's do it on the terracotta, Barry B

Wasn't Palmy $40, $50 if you wanted a reserved seat or one in the stand at least? Let's do it on the terracotta, Barry B

Should of had stockcars on night one more entertainment than boring six shooters. It's probably not as easy to get a good field of Stockcars into WP on a Friday night as it is on the Saturday night, Auckland being Auckland and the traffic being what it is. The drivers can't just knock of work at 5pm like the fans can, and head across town to race - it's at least a half day off work for them, and they're only the support show. With less teams races (5) on the second night than the first (7), they'll be a good addition to the Saturday night program with I suspect a lot more cars than if they were on the Friday schedule. Let's do it on the terracotta, Barry B

Mike is running at this weeks Akl Champs, the NZGP at Vegas in a few weeks time and also the North Island Champs at the end of the month. He is arranging a transfer of license to be eligable for NI title. Other than Mike, don't expect a huge mod field this year for the Akl Champs as we will have no Stratty cars due to their Anniversary weekend at home. Will leave us with only a 7-9 car field. Battle between 2nz, 11a and 19a should make up for it! I believe that the format is 3 x heat races for points with a 1 race 20 lapper for the title.

With 7 confirmed teams (with an 8th team possible) I thought it could be done in one night. It's not the gate prices that are an issue as such, it's more the day off work, 2x accom, 2x food, 2x Mrs Shopping etc etc. It all add's up It is more than likely it needs a double gate to make this event financially viable. Teams racing is tough, so I guess spreading the races over two nights helps there as well. Forget I even mentioned it

every year it comes round...not the teams champs ...the discussion about the price of tickets... yep we all made it really clear ages ago the shooters are not a favourite at WP..in fact ..the faithful really dislike em...but every year WP puts this show on and still the same discussion....why are the suport classes shyte...why this and why that...if there were no event...oh why is there no teams.. auckland is fecked.... it costs what it costs..we were told a season or two ago when the teams was dropped for a year what it was all about..if you want it, pay for it...last time whatever...it worked out like 5 bucks a teams race...50 cents a lap...8 cars on track...it only cost you 6.25 cents a lap to watch a superstock do its thing...but dont let me catch you peeking at any other cars on track...that'll be another 6.25 cents please...thats at the special price...but to get the special price you have to buy a complete ticket for 30 bucks....and to make sure you dont miss even a penny's worth of your ticket price they also put some other races on so you can go wee wee or buy a burger...is that something you might be interested in?
