When you sit through crap speedway shows you sometimes wonder why you bother. It's nights like tonight that remind me why I am a speedway fan.
The 5 teams races were all superb.
The commitment of the drivers and teams was second to none. All the teams had an excellent grip on strategy. Indeed I'd go as far to say that tactically it was the best I've seen.
Then after the teams racing the Superstock drivers dish up a spectacular all-in race. It was hard to know where to watch, there were battles raging all over the track (and up the wall).
So thanks to all the drivers for putting on a show and in particular to the Nelson Tigers. Having driven from Nelson to Auckland I know exactly what is involved in the trip and it is a massive undertaking.

It was a great 2 nights of on track action. Thanks to the promotion for the event, and to the competitors for putting on a great show. Brutal.

I have to agree, was probably the best 2 nights entertainment for hits and none stop action. I had been talking this meeting up to a mate who came along last night and he was hooked after the first heat. My body is sore just watching it so I can only guess how the drivers are feeling

I will put my hand up and say I was one of the many who expressed disappointment that only 7 teams would be making the trip to Auckland this weekend. I'd best describe myself as a superstock teams racing junkie so quantity was better than quality but after Friday and Saturday night I'm going to reserve my opinion after only 7 teams delivered racing from the top shelf. Agree Percy that the commitment of those taking part was second to none with every teams race being as great as the previous one. Here here Barry, thanks to all those involved in putting an awesome show together.

I too put my hand up as someone who was disappointed in only 7 teams fronting but they put on a great spectacle. Thank u to ALL the teams. Drivers crews n management. You all deserve a pat on the back.
Congrats to the top 3 but an extra congrats to the Auckland Allstars. You guys have lifted the profile of the club n the team. You boys have to be proud of what you have achieved this season.
Best wishes are with Shane Penn. We wish u a speedy recovery.

After the weekend both those words fit nicely Tank11 Can't see how anyone could reserve judgement on a seven team format after that example.

Very Very pleased with the whole weekend for the Auckland club, congratulations to the drivers and thank you, and hooray for the people who put it together...I watched both nights from the comfort of my home.... the park, the track ..everything looked really good on the screen...Im very proud for all of you today..you showed NZ that regardless of the negative rubbish that gets put about, the ASSCC is a good unit with great facilities and an awesome surface to race on. If you have ever wondered what it would be like to have a 6-way teams race on track - that was it!! Basically everyone was having a shot at everyone.Asher Rees for example was leading and/or in the top 3 for the first part of the race, until taken out by a Bay car. So he then went on a "seek and destroy non-Mustangs mission". But MOST of the field was doing the same for their relevant Team. congrats to Lala for taking the checkered, but also congrats to all for the hard, fast, give it everything racing.

I was another that critised the need for two nights with only 7 teams, but the format worked really well.
As others have said the drivers raced hard, fast ad brutal. I didn't think the Panther Mustangs race would errupt like it did.
The entire meeting was brilliant.
Full respect to all drivers that put body and cars on the line. There must be sore people out there today. Thanx to Bruce and team who have kept this meeting going. Thanx also to all the others involved in the running and managing the meet.
I won't compare Palmy to WP. It just seems now that both are un-missable meetings.
Thanx again to all.
Also good to catch up with some lovely people not sighted for a while.
