There is a thread in honour of the drivers at the Teams Nationals but considering Waikaraka takes a lot of flak for the way some of it's meetings pan out it's only right they get a pat on the back when it all goes so well.
From my perspective the venue is looking the tidiest it's been in some while with painted pole line and freshly painted wall, embankments etc. etc. Sitting up top of the grandstand it was refreshing to overhear someone comment about how good it all looked so well done to those who have been putting in the effort.
The running of the meeting was great , the commentary was good , the info flow from officialdom was good.
The track itself was prepared for the main attraction of teams racing and stayed smooth over both nights.
There really wasn't anything not good about the two nights , even the Hotdogs were so good I had two.
So to all those that made this weekend happen , from the promoter to the tireless workers both loud and quiet behind the scenes
Well done guys and girls !.
As an aside , I overnighted in the main carpark as did many other campervans and motorhomes. All very convivial and well behaved too I must say. Saturday morning several people from the group set about cleaning up the mess left behind by the general public after they had left Friday night's meeting. Well done those people that cleaned up.

As someone who is very quick to criticize WP for there faults. I must say last nights meeting was very well run n the racing was top notch. Well done to all those behind the scenes for there hard work and effort that helped make it a success. This shows that with a bit of hard work WP can do it. The meeting flowed really well. The sponsors would have to be happy with the club and the meeting as a whole.
Well done to all the drivers crews n management for a great weekend.

Not a truer word spoken Magor. Most of us forget the tireless efforts by all those behind the scenes. From a fan who truly appreciates the efforts of everyone involved a big thank you to all those people who help Joe Public like me have such an awesome weekend. I thought Palmy last month was great and this weekend just topped it all off.

Didn't get to Palmy this year so can't say Auckland was better than Palmy, but it was certainly a sensational two nights whichever way you look at it.

I wonder if the secret of track preparation will be picked up by other tracks? Something to do with 20+ tons of tandem drive rubbish truck spinning up all 8 wheels while hooking up sideways.
But seriously, it was a very well run and enjoyable meeting.
