With the Straightlining ban debate all go what do you think about reducing the speed in the contact classes to make it safer instead of bringing in even more rules about where and how you can hit a car on the track?

Nope , no one ever wants to race slower and considering the racers make the rules it aint going to happen.

I can't see it happening either. I posted elsewhere that a guy in a $150-200'000 Superstock doesn't want to be doing slower laps than a Ministock and that is a very real possibility. At Meeanee they are only 2 sec per lap slower and I guarantee a similar scenario at other tracks around the Country. At most of our club nights the contact is minimal and a new rule{s} wouldn't have any visible change to the racing so as stated elsewhere by others the possible rule changes would only affect Teams and possibly Championships..

I honestly don't see that as being relevant - if they want speed, drive a Sprintcar. Minisprints area already waaaaaaay faster than Superstocks, but do you see drivers selling up and swapping classes? The two contact classes are the most popular spectator classes for a reason. Not being willing to slow them down is madness, just look at Group B rallying

This poll cracks me up..... The only people who give a dam are voting with their wallets, not on this thread, I would have brought a sprintcar if I wanted to go real fast (talking a couple of secs a lap faster) but I didn't, I wanted a car that sounded cool, went fast and I could smash nuts... Only those that travel through the pit gate get a say, they do so by their own choice..... End of poll, end of story............

How many people that are voting on this have been wound off?? a few id say. easy for fans/spectators to vote to not ban straightlining,But when you break bones ,cant go to work, cant pick up your son, lose ur income, and struggle to get out your armchair for months after you may have a different view on it. Dont get me wrong, the contact is what its all about but winding another car in and following them in at the pace stockcars have these days is just plain dumb really! Not to mention supers...EGO dont pay the bills.. cheers
