Rhodesta, if you really wanted to do it you would have. People like Blondie just do it like they want and give it a go, if it doesn't work well that's a learning experience. He doesn't go on forums asking advice on everything and posting photos etc. I think you will find that most of the budget racers and guys who build their own cars, haven't got time to be keyboard racers, they are just too darn busy actually doing it !!! Im sure if you really wanted to you would have been able to say that in a less insulting manner. I spent years researching, talking to drivers, talking to family and talking to people who know what they are doing. Because I was new to building a car of any sort. I spent money I didnt have and will never get back trying to do it my way. I spent all that effort even while being insulted, put down and called an idiot for my own ideas and out of the box thinking. and you have the balls to say "if you really wanted to..." clearly people like you are the reason more people dont say stuff on here. I may not be rich like you must be, but I grabbed my ideas, what money i had and started working at it instead of jumping on a keyboard and running someone else down.

Sorry to hear your project didn't come to be, you obviously were very keen and maybe perhaps if you had crewed for a successful competitor for a season ,or while building your own racecar you would have had the fnecessary knowledge and experience and at the end of the day you would have been able to realize your dream. Never too late to achieve something if that is what you want. I'll do something one day - have been crewed for a stock car and modified, family has had productions, ministocks and supersaloons both current and in the past.

Geeze calm down, certainly wasn't meant to insult you, I don't know you from a bar of soap other than a name on a forum, so how can it be particularly personal. I actually think its sad when guys have ideas and projects and don't succeed in taking them to fruition. I have no idea in your case why you didn't continue, but it appears you were worn down others. I'd be interested to know who "insulted" you, "put you down " and called you an "idiot " ? Why listen to this if you have your ideas, just do it !!!

I love it how people people moan and whinge how Ugly a Wedge "Hypermac" chassis is & the spin off versions. But these cars have been responsible for a lot new cars being built since since Shane built the first one in 08. So if people think that they have been a bad thing for the future of Super Saloons they obviously have there heads in the clouds.

Get off the budget bandwagon. I would hate to think what some saloons are at cost wise, the same with stocks. Blondie is saying " let's build a super at budget price under the new rules" Now his $30k budget may not be everyones cup of tea but it's his budget. Now im confused being told to get off the Budget Bandwagon .... but wait isnt that the whole message Blondie is getting at, building his Salooncar/Super Salooncar for $30k ?? thats his budget. In the context of "we have a budget class" There is NO budget class in speedway any more. Even ministocks are over $10k. One on here was priced at two easy payments of $19k?(I think a typo, I hope) Proddie car a few years back was built for over $20k. Stocks are getting to $100k Saloons $$60k 1/4 midgets $12k I not saying anyone isn't allowed to spend what ever they want, go for it. But don't cry when someone like Blondie spends a pittance and beats you.

Wouldnt it be cool if blondie takes his car and teaches us all a leason. The issue is the attack on the Super Saloon class and where it is and where its heading. There has been a lot of work put in by the competitors crews and interested people to up the profile and where we want the class to head.

I think a lot of the postings are missing the point, those of us that are making comments about Blondies latest car aren't interested in the cost factor. That is over to the individual how much they want to spend, same as Joe blogs on their road car. What is alienating people which then polarises their view is Blondie making this a stand against the rule makers, a view which comes thru loud and clear in all his interviews. To me he would of retained far more respect if he just keep his mouth shut, turned up with another Blondie special and kept politics out of it and did his protesting silent and on the track and if he achieves any thing then make comments after the event. I think there is more current cars in his class around the figure he has spent than he imagines . An interesting NZs it will be. .

He had an opinion, came up with a plan and put the plan in motion. He did not volunteer his opinion or shout it from the roof tops on this board or anywhere else, he just did it. The only time his opinion became public knowledge was when he was asked why he did it - why should he have to stay quiet? personally I have more respect for the man for saying at the start that he had issues with the rules and wanted to try and make a point. That is far more honest than doing as you suggest and being quiet with a hidden agenda. Blondie, just like the other super owners/drivers who disagree with him, is entitled to his opinion, and they are all entitled to voice it. Your message appears to be that if you disagree with masses then shut up because your wrong and the masses are right. I applaud Blondie for saying bugger that and then backing up his opinions/beliefs with action. Good on you Blondie, and best of luck.

Blondie had made noises about his aims before this project began and these were known by many, and if you recall he brought ex 8H for this purpose but chose the present ex Julian mod chassis to fight his beef with SNZ. Why he still has a gripe with them after 12yrs out of it?. The purpose of saying build it, achieve what ever then have your say is that way you haven't brought attention to yourself or alienated any one till after the event when you have then proved your point and can back it up, NOT as you say if you disagree with the masses shut up.
