Not so much a "rumour" but a question; Do team drivers hav to use their regestered racing number now as apposed to "team" numbers? E.g. The tigers will not be 82, 83, 84, 85, 86N?

May as well ditch the team bodies as well if team numbers confuse people as they won't recognize the cars when they normally race, would have been much easier to say team numbers had to be in sequence

I agree with Reagan 52b however something needs to be addressed regarding Teams of a similar colour as that is just as hard to figure out who is.who.

And if teams show up with teams numbers will they be told to go home? If the drivers want teams numbers they should all just show up with them, would Bruce turn 5 or 6 teams away because if it??

I agree with Reagan 52b however something needs to be addressed regarding Teams of a similar colour as that is just as hard to figure out who is.who. Paint the bumpers and side rails of one team, say Panthers, all one colour, say black, and paint the bumpers and side rails of another black team, say Hawkeyes, all one different colour to the other black team, say red. And so on for all the same coloured teams, like the Mustangs and Scrappers both being white. Would also be easier for the drivers to see a red bumper and know that's he's his team mate, rather than wondering if he's on his team or the other one.

As spectator/keyboard racer I think team colours are a must, and would like to see their normal race numbers. I have watched speedway for a long time, and know the drivers numbers, but teams that race consecutive, or Lord forbid, the Alley Cat numbers are hard for me.
Even better still both classes that teams race should present their ( race car ) bodies to SNZ for sign off, so as not to have colour clashes.
I can't see the numbers being important for the drivers, in seeking their victim. Bumper colour would help lots tho, for both teams.
Maybe racing tape for the final as per Wayne Hemi when Gizzy held the NZ champs.

Just another thought, if we all change our numbers then what about team merchandise with team numbers that teams still have it becomes useless and what numbers would the poms run?

I'd still like to know how it works with fill in & reserve driver numbers, have been told of at least 1 palmy driver who is driving for another team Will the reserve driver need to take bodies with his number on to fit every possible car in the team?

Or when a driver gets hurt the reserve fits into a car (not the hurt drivers, as he's not a good fit)and then there is a swap around with others. Has happened in teams before.

Or when a driver gets hurt the reserve fits into a car (not the hurt drivers, as he's not a good fit)and then there is a swap around with others. Has happened in teams before. Other drivers have always had a skid in a mates car (on an ordinary night) here and there without undergoing a number change - it's only if it becomes the norm that is required. I'm sure this will be just the same. I'd say common sense will dictate that each car starts the weekend with its regular driver's racing number. If others drive it over the course of a weekend, so be it, but to come up with all of these other little scenarios over reserve drivers and the like is just nit picking. As for the Pommies, I don't think it really matters what numbers the run. NZ fans are generally not familar with their numbers anyway, except for possibly the 515. Barry B
