With the gold coin donation this weekend for parking could the club let us know what charitable group our money will be passed onto. Also if we wish to not support that charity may we decline?

My guess is that it will be used to pay for security to patrol the areas to make sure no little dropkicks think they have five hours to go plundering.

On the parking map published on FB ... no spectator parking access through the pit gate. Nearby farmers have offered paddocks to accept overflow.

Correct Pete extra security will be on duty this weekend, and the donation is also for the use of the parking space, no part of the donation will actually go to the club.
So, if you arrive and park at say 5pm, with a 7pm start time and a finish somewhere between 10 and 11 we hope, that is about 6 hours parking for a gold coin donation.......times must be harder than I thought

The word donation in itself means you are well within your rights to pay nothing. The club covers all costs in regards to St John attendance and so there is no charitable group that will receive any monies. The donation helps cover extra security patrols and also is a contribution to the landowners to have generously let us use their land for this weekend. Isn't it nice to have track neighbours that support speedway?
On average most car will be parked for approximately 6 hours, for a gold coin donation.....

I dont mind at all paying a gold coin donation. All day parking for 1 - 2 dollars... much cheaper than the 30c an hour Blenheim charge in town!

I cannot even believe there is a thread about this, why would you even question it, have a good look at what it actually costs to run a meeting let alone a big meeting like this one

On the other hand, if a gold coin donation is the largest of anyone's worries today, compared with the slaughter of journalists in France for daring to express an opinion, we have it pretty sweet in our little corner of the globe. Here's hoping it stays that way

Maybe you could discuss this when you turn up and park your car, I'm sure it will be looked after really good while you are watching the racing.

Got my answer two days ago from Totspete was a little suprised as Nelson have never charged a parking fee in the past that i know of.Not once did i say we would not pay as to have our work vehicle in a patrolled park will be reassuring. At the end of the day it was just a question relax people and once again thanks Totspete.

For the 3 years I lived in Blenheim I enjoyed paying their rather minimal parking fees. Sure beats the $2 per hour you pay here in Jafaland. Anthony
