The drivers picked up a bag at the draw, a number was in the bag evidently. That was the end of that. The grids were rattled through before the start of race one in race 1 grid order. Too fast for those there I'm told. Institutional knowledge is a very important thing when it comes to getting the little things right. None of the PPL running the meeting will forget in future to put the grid draw number on the bottom of the bag or somewhere it can be found easily BEFORE the interview next time. Agreed , but I'm sure some of the people have been around for a while.

As an ex Nelsonian these guys make a lot more sense when you can see what they are talking about. Can we see a day in the fture where commentators will need to describe more for those not there or do we have to accept that they are there for the people watching live and not those listening in? Yes. A track commentator has NO obligation for people tuning in for free....... Let's do it on the terracotta, Barry B

That would be the norm I guess not extending themselves to a wider audience?

That would be the norm I guess not extending themselves to a wider audience? Or just working for their employer. It appears from earlier posts (I wasn't tuned in) that Nelson dropped the ball somewhat with grids and results; that should be done for those at the track, and those listening in benefit too, but any track commentator has a responsibility to the paying patrons of his club, not anybody listening via another source. If people are paying for a stream, it's a different story. Barry B

I certainly don't expect the race calling to be for my free loading benefit and really I have little interest in that side of it although some of the descriptive vocals raised my eyebrows a little.
My concern was more for the people there trying to take down grids etc. Then there were the non existent pit reports. The really long bouts of nothing at all could have been utilised too. The build up that Super Saloon 1nz was there but never mentioned again or seen on track. I could go on but I won't. I will lock the thread before Ramjam catches me
