So why does Blondie ( edit - a non V8) have to carry more weight for every cubic inch? because its supercharged. rule T11-1-2 (c) Maximum engine capacity 434 cu in. In the case of supercharging or turbocharging of any engine, the nominal engine cubic capacity will be multiplied by 1.7. The car will be treated in all respects as if its cylinder capacity thus increased were its real capacity. This shall particularly be the case for calculating vehicle minimum weights and maximum engine size.this means his car ich would be minimum of 802kgs if it were naturally aspirated has instead got a minimum weight limit of 921. the supercharger multiplies his engines cubic size to 229ci instead of 135ci. Thank you that makes sense

Brendon they aint going to get beaten by a port a loo for sure /Not going to happen m8 You're obviously privy to information that I dont have, I think Blondie is a promoters dream, & for some, a competitors nightmare. I hope he does get to run (I don't mean run as in 'the runs), certainly adds a big dose of interest to the class. Cheers, BL

I wouldn't rule out blondie's chances, from what ive seen at Huntly and on Utube it turns fast and seems to run alternative lines and gets through impossible gaps that any traditional saloon/super saloons cannot (too much weight in all the wrong places)
He will not be blocked in or held up by slow traffic that's for sure
He who passes the most cars wins
hard one to call because it hasn't run at the level yet but I wouldn't rule it out
Cheers Brendon

Also be another thing might well be to noisy, After Huntly infringement notice Blondie has put another muffler in the exhaust system and when it ran at Stratford it was a lot quieter

The reason for the weight tables giving a huge advantage to a big V8 and an incredible & unfair dis-advantage to small motors was because I could beat any big $$ car with my SD1 Rover with basically a stock standard P76 of 272 cubes. At that time I had brought in from Oz a Leyland 5.0 litre Formula 5000 motor that had the big $$ boys (girls?) s**t scared so the convinced their lackeys to change the rules a put an extra 100kg on it. They then ran a straight line through a graph with what their V8's weighed & my 100kg penalty weight & created the current Saloon car weight tables. The "unintentional" side effect was to completely disadvantage any 4 & 6 cyl motors as well as rotaries. That is why we have basically the same racecar for everybody. Depends on your point of view whether this is good or bad. Its wonderful for anybody selling expensive USA bits but not so good if you, like me, would prefer to see cars like we drive to work racing round the track.

Blondie// Why would you have your car greens sheeted 3 times /Every one else only has it done once .If there is something wrong with it they put it in the log book then you get it fixed to the scrutineer's satisfaction What is the problem with yours has it not got a big enough waste pipe ??
