Results are a farce. Gisborne should have been disqualified for having an overweight car. Final should have been Rotorua vs Wellington.

Should be 8g!! Last year in P.N Bulldogs team got disqualified for overweight car so by my reckoning shouldn't the whole Gizzy team get disqualified?? Bulldogs weren't excluded last year, only the overweight car which happened to be the race winner

Well done gizzy. Teams that where robbed the V and the C.Looks like another road trip.

I'm stating what happened during the racing and well that's just one of many infringements I saw. As for Christchurch being excluded I think it was wrong. The wellington car was caught by two C cars so would've possibly been in the fence turn 3 anyway. It was only just(but is breaking rules) on the concrete pole line

After watching chch win then get, whole team kicked out then mr rees do the same in the final and only him parked up .onr rule for north new one for south ?? Ok this is the best as I can explain it, so hope it makes sense.... A welly car infringes on turn 1 lap 1 and gets taken off. From my POV its harsh but so be it. Just under two laps from home with a welly car leading he is taken out in exactly the same illegal way and losses the lead because of it. The race continues and of course Chch win the race. Now if the race was stopped, the offender removed, the lead welly car reinstated into the lead and given the last lap and 3/4 to keep the lead and the chasing chch car (who was very close behind) the same amount of time to catch and pass to take the win. No problem no matter who won.... But that didn't happen. So am illegal act actually determined the outcome of the race. So really as hard as it was on chch it was the only outcome that could have happened. If it was a back marking Welly car taken out it could be argued it would not have affected the end result, but being the leader you can't argue it didn't You're right Rammers.....the bottom line is it was the correct end result going by what happened on track. DQ'ing the offending car was not going to give Welly the recourse required, so there was no other choice after the fact. Either both cars needed to be left on or both instances should have been red lighted. Barry B

there were many teams that were robbed but C shouldnt be claiming to be robbed after their quarter final. kyle lane chasing the lead waikato car across the in field allowing him to push the waikato car wide and spin him even after the waikato cars back bumper crossed the line before lane. is it first passed the post or first transponder passed the loop? might need to set up a camera on the line like at the horse races if this is gonna be an issue.

That's a separate argument however. Applying the rules the officials had NO choice but to take the action they did. It's a black and white rule. Barry B

It was only just(but is breaking rules) on the concrete pole line "only just" is still breaking the rule. The concrete is NOT part of the racing surface, it's part of the infield. Dale Robertson was "only just" too, in the same race, and paid the price. Rotorua's T1 pole line is a shocker as far as T1 infringing goes. I'm not sure if it's all the drivers fault, or whether a little re sculpturing could be in order to assist everybody? Barry B

Barry B There's no such thing as "only just" breaking the rules. It's a bit like pregnancy; you either are or you aren't. It certainly sounds as though the officiating last night was inconsistent at best, which is the worst way for it to be. I don't mind tough or even bad officiating, as long as it is consistently tough or bad; at least that way everyone knows where they stand.

Kyle Lane didn't chase the Waikato car across the infield, but I do agree he cut the corner slightly on exit and wasn't pinged for it. I believe C were lucky to get away with that one, but I also don't expect the officials to see everything we see. We miss a lot of the stuff they see too, it just depends on we're you're looking at that particular moment. As for who crossed the line first, we use ELS to determine the placings, and transmitter location did come into question in the dead heat in the Midget 50 lapper a few years ago, but it was determined then that the ELS result stood regardless of whose transmitter was furtherest forward. It's not the ELS's issue one of the cars is backwards. As an aside, I felt Lane's bumper was first past the post anyway, but have spoken to several who both agree and disagree. It was extremely close. Barry B

So talking about outcomes of races being determined by something/someone illegal.. it Was 8g that took out the R lead car and it was 8g that caused Anither R car to retire to the infield... Yet the right outcome didn't happen? I thought common sense may have prevailed but it seems the rule book says different which I can accept I suppose...very hard to accept but none the less.
I simply want to see that rule changed asap and I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking that it doesn't need to wait for remits or nothing just a simple vote will do

chased across the in field/cut the corner whats the difference? didnt keep it on the track and thats the issue. the pole line was well defined last night and its not kyles first outting so should be well aware of what he can and cant do. i agree the refs cant see everything as they are only human but i would have thought that was a corner of interest with not to much more going on at that end of the track so should have seen it. i have just had enough of illegal moves defining a race and going unpunished. cars cut the pole wreck the leader and if the ref is onto it they get removed, but the damage is done the leader is crippled and they cruise to a win. maybe they should let the reserve car take the place of the victim.......

Would be unfair to DQ one team with an overweight car and hand the win to another that may have two overweight cars. Perhaps the random weighing should be just BEFORE the race? That way it could be DQ'd before the race even starts. Barry B

Winning team had an overweight car, should have had consequences which put them out of the competition as which happened to Bay Park last season. The Rules and penalties need to be looked at, I wonder what Pete thinks about wining a teams championship with an illegal car in his team.

Couldnt DQ the entire G team... Rees would have "personal issues" and need to get the sign writers out to change the letter on the cars again....

The Rules and penalties need to be looked at, I wonder what Pete thinks about wining a teams championship with an illegal car in his team. What happened to Baypark last year was that their overweight car won the race thus when excluded meant the team hadn't won. 8g wasn't massively overweight(10kg) but overweight is overweight. If the weighing was done before the race then we wouldn't be having this drama.
