The Thread is tilted "What needs to change to get more people using Live streaming?" It mentions the possibility of a trial at some tracks that have had difficulty in the past with live stream, these things I would have thought would be the right thing to do and ask before starting this sort of project, there is no mention of any confirmed streaming at events next season. So just what is it you are seeking confirmation for Barry? I would have thought this is good for the sport. Some have tried and failed this person is doing some due diligence before trying which I thought was the right thing to do?

Well I'm just watching the Le Mans 24 hours through a live stream. No I know there probably a lot of money poured into but it has was you want. Good picture, doesn't crash, good commentators who are connected to live timing and have good tech knowledge of sport, a constant positions graphic and it cost $13 for the whole 24hours. Now I can't really fault that

I am in talks with tracks at this time, But due to business ethics I will not and should not have to disclose those talks publicly on a site like this until they are locked in, your basically asking me to publicly post our business plan for our competitors to read. the tracks I am currently talking to have no livestream or tv coverage at this time. I have said many times we would like to offer the service to tracks that have been burnt in the past to TRIAL OUR SYSTEM to see if we can get a successful stream out of there. I have spoken to SNZ and their view is "its up to the individual track to agree to this service we have no say"
I am based in the north island I don't know where you got chch from.
As beachboy rightly said this post is tilted "What needs to change to get more people using Live streaming?" not this is our company structure, pricing, offers to tracks etc. I purely came on this site to ask the consumers what they are missing in a product that SNZ needs more of. We are wanting to offer the best possible service for the best price for a stream that is what they are wanting to watch.
Advertising wise - will only be sponsors logos of each race of the night not full adverts. We want to focus on the event not stopping for ads constantly.
Pricing wise - yes tracks do take a cut of the streaming price as to them they are bums on seats.
The "we are" and "we want to" comments - we ARE going to be present in the speedway realms this year as I mentioned earlier we are talking to tracks at this time and some are "positive" some are "show us what you can do first" and some are "at this time we have other contracts but are interested to see what we can produce" our goal for the future is to cover all or 99% of national titles etc I don't believe that speedway is more that 2 seasons away from that being a reality, events like some this season don't help towards the cause of this service becoming an essential part of SNZ but it wont take long to build it up. Especially with the ondemand and DVD production side as well.
I think this thread needs to stay on topic around "what needs to change for more people to use live streaming" rather than focusing on my business at this stage (not the time or place to discuss that). more details about us will emerge soon with the launch of our company coming soon which will be "live streamed" for people to see. There has been so much useful information from the few people that have posted and the few I have spoken to on the phone so thank you for your input.

Thanks cameraman, that make things a little clearer. I didn't mean for you to disclose commercially sensitive information. Good luck moving into what appears to be getting quite a flooded market, with varying results to date, and good luck if you do talk to Rotorua and decide to try a stream out of there. Re the ChCh reference, there's obviously a company with a very similar name doing similar sort of business (although not speedway) down there. My apologies for being confused.

Not entirely on topic but a further thought after my previous posts is that unwound love to be able to come home from a meeting - say the 240s or NZ superstock champs which I will never miss (unless I'm dead), and watch the meeting again rather than it just be stored in my memory, be cool to see replays etc again. An extra 2c of input

the competition will be good for the consumer with more options available and each streamer having to sharpen up and offer a point of difference. i suspect the one who can offer stability and consistancy the best will win favour with the consumer's.

It will come down to: Consistency + Stability - no buffering (unless you have a connection problem at your end) Price - may not be the cheapest but the best value for money Extra Features offered - DVDs, on demand, merchandise sales, etc Other Content Featured - On demand shows for getting to know drivers, car and track technical info, etc Camera Angles and number of cameras - also capturing the content on track (not always about the leader) Commentary Team All round experience for customer Number of events covered on 1 weekend - some companies only geared up for 1 Equipment used will determine the above all works 100%
who ever can produce that list and more 100% of the time will take speedway into the future with video production world wide.

I just spoke to a track about producing a promotional dvd about who we are and showing what we can do. They are willing to let us come and produce this. It was a suggestion made to me last night with a phone call I had. I will start working on the planning process now so watch this space.
I know everyone here is just wanting some evidence of what we can do. This is our chance to do that. I will talk to the team and some drivers and get something loaded asap. If we can we will livestream this process to so people can see our livestream quality at the same time.
Cheers

Do you know what the problem is with live feed and are you able to overcome it? Depends on which issue you are talking about, there have been many issues in the past. many of which have been listed here but also some that havnt been commented about but have had private conversations with people about.
I believe that with all of my planning towards finding out issues that past viewers have dealt with, I have systems, technology and experience to overcome those issues to give the consumer the best, most cost effective and most professional service.
After Wednesday next week I will be able to give a better outline here as to our plan going forward, pricing etc.
If anyone would like to discuss things mentioned in this thread further I am more than happy to call you if you PM your details, I am also willing to answer any PM questions you may have.
Cheers Cody

A couple of positive-supportive posts form the moderators, welcome to the sport and Macgors Cameraman I've dragged this old comment and thread up for a reason. For one it all seemed too good to be true this high quality streaming from multiple places at the same time and the style of writing was very similar to a low life from a few years back trying to set up a youth ministock team promising rides to the moon and back. I did some research on cameraman and was even more alarmed when his hometown turned out to be Wellington. Couldn't nail it down though so let it ride. Turns out as I feared Cody Harris the Cameraman is none other than Brad Bowers the same convicted child sex offender who had tried to infiltrate our youth ministock class . The boys in blue are wanting to catch up with him at the moment. Help if you can. details here www.newstalkzb.co.nz/news/crime/christchurch-police-hunting-sex-offender-on-the-run/Panic over , he has been caughtPolice arrest Brad Bowers Wednesday, 24 August 2016 - 2:15pm National News Auckland Police have arrested Brad Bowers on Waiheke Island this afternoon. If this lowlife is playing the same games again, then he needs to be stopped. Really pleased to see you aren't afraid to post a photo, a name and a request for help in this instance. Not an easy call for a mod I would suggest.

Penman I didn't solve it so no credit taken, I won't name the person who alerted me though. Easy decision to publish the photo , Bowers is a recidivist offender and we don't want him near our speedways at any time.
As it turns out the police have nabbed him on Waiheke Island of all places. Their notice went up while I was contemplating what I was going to post. duh.

A most excellent result.
I expect we will have live streaming (including drone coverage, entry/exit to the cells and an interview) in due course...
