I think you need to knock the bleating on the head Dick , Palmy is promoted well enough to fill the venue. No point attracting more people than you can cater for. The Stockcar teams is a way off yet . You know when it is as do most of us that are interested in attending. The track doesn't yet know how many teams are fronting so have nothing to tell us yet. I predict Gisborne will have the biggest crowd they have had for quite a while. Knock it on the Head Dick .. hahaha that's a good one.

Well done Gizzy for that.
We are just under two months out from one of the best meets of the season.
Gizzy has put up the teams that have entered, and I assume they will continue to do so. Pressure now goes on the teams to enter. Gizzy is a long way for teams to travel, hence those tracks close have entered.
I would be disappointed if they didn't get 12 teams.

youd guess that almost every team that has teams raced this season would be keen to make an appearence at this event.
And most promotions would also be keen particularly given they gat q chance to host this meeting.
I did hear a while back that a substantial amount of accomodation is already booked for this event?
Mind you if they can hop d 15000 for rythem and vines it should be sweet hosting 5000 speedway fans.

number 1 new zealand summer sport? where did you get this from? think you will find cricket is new zealands national summer sport. and that woln't change as there is a international new zealand team and for speedway there isn't. (i love my cricket) i will forgive you though :-) I've got no way of proving either way but I'd be bloody suprised if the cricket turnstiles thruout NZ had more clicks than than the speedway turnstiles did between September and May. I remember seeing some numbers a while back, and speedway outdid rugby and cricket for paying customers. Throughout the season even if there is an average of 8 tracks on any one night, if they only do 1000 -2000 each that's still 8000 -16000 per week. And that excludes 2 day meetings, NZs, Teams Champs, intentional events like 240s, western springs etc, plus all the meetings that draw bigger than normal crowds ie GPs, Island titles, etc etc , and of course fireworks and demo derby meetings. (Remember Huntly's sellout, and Straford was all out of car parming on Boxing Day.) So, I can't do the maths on that, but it feels like a LOT!

If I was living in Auckland and wanting to come to this event I would be on grabaseat this morning - fly in to Gissy 9am Friday and back to Auckland 7am Sunday for $98 return - cheap as chips knocks out 12 hours driving

I'm sure I saw it written they weren't doing pre-sales of tickets but now I see they are and the only payment method is paypal. www.gisbornespeedway.co.nz/calendar/2016-new-zealand-stockcar-teams-championship/And then there is this website that has appeared but there doesn't seem to be any mention of it being official nzstockcarteamschamps.co.nz/home.phpIt's starting to look messy. Somewhere out there I saw mention of the meeting being live streamed but can't find it now and don't know who is doing it if it is actually happening. Information should be on or linked from the official track site.

From the NZTC face book page
A Gisborne Speedway Committee member who runs their "online" presents was offered an opportunity to become part of this page. He declined. So ALL information on this page will not be from the "Official" source BUT will be completely factual before any information is released. How ever well intentioned, sort of reminds me of an email I received from a Nigerian prince now residing in Guatemala.
Haven't been to Giizzy for yonks, but 8, aint quite enough.
Given how close this event is now, some official information from the one true official source would be appreciated.

Read above, 12 teams I did, along with the NZTC disclaimer, which clearly states that NZTC information is not from an official source. My problem is that I will likely spend a grand or so on accommodation, travel, entry fees etc over that weekend. A bit more than I usually do on a weekend sorty down to the wacky park. The chief financial officer is OK with me having a weekend away, but for that sort of out lay, including spending my hard earned browny points,I want to make sure its value for money before I commit.

Gee I forgot - who were the four top seeded teams from last year at Rotorua? Obviously Gizz was one.
