id rather see gizzy there and then get cleaned up I take it ur anti Rees brigade. Will be a good team to clean up the Rees and Gavin Taniwha but anything can happen. First they have to be accepted to race. Good luck to all that put there cars and bodies on the line will be one hell of a weekend. not completely anti rees as they have done so much for the sport but if im completely honest that giizzy team would be almost unbeatable

No such thing as unbeatable..we all thought that about the great Panthers team of late but they suffered a few losses along the way. Thats the thing i find attracts alot of fans the fact a race can be turned from one side to the other in a split second.

Just saying Auckland down to race the UK side. Its an event that is advertised as happening and im sure AKL will get some support to make this race happen. Theres plenty of keen driver/car packages out there that want to race and haven't been named in a sideyet. Plus theres people off the track that want this event to happen who might ensure it does Wanganui had a few cars at the NZ champs...54v, 23v, 99v (although got a bit beaten up), Heibners car was there and might be given to someone to drive? The Pod tank didn't quite make it but would of had a month to get it ready. Maybe a driver from another track and theres a warriors side easily enough. What they might look like, if at all, is wide open but they are still a definite possibility.

Can think of a Rees or two that might be looking for a drive if Gizzy aren't accepted

Catch 22 - if they go with the V, the G prob won't get a start. If they hang off the G MIGHT get a start

Teams Champs wouldn't quite be Teams Champs without the Warriors, and we are trying as hard as we can to avoid that.

With just over two weeks until the event, how long does Bruce hang out waiting for teams to announce their intentions on whether they can field a team or not. Surely there needs to be a cut off point so that everyone can get organised. If he is adamant that Gisborne are not going to be there regardless of what other teams can or can't field a team, then he needs to front up and say so. All this secret squirrel stuff is doing no-one any favours.

I'm sure discussions/organising is going on behind the scenes the same as it does every year and no doubt we will get to see yet another great teams meeting. Not all the wheeling and dealing needs to happen in the public arena.

You're dead right about discussions and organising Macgor, but of course social media and sites like this have created an expectation of instant answers. Our people have stayed silent up until this morning because we couldn't give any answers, and the last thing we wanted to do was to feed the rumour mill. If we can be at Teams Champs we will. If not, it won't be for the lack of trying.

I wonder how big the cherry is that Bruce is holding out in front of the V

Perhaps Wanganui could combine with Auckland to put a team together? The Auckland Warriors If Vodafone came on board with $25k cash and a sack of brand new iPhone 6S's, we might consider it
