With just over two weeks until the event, how long does Bruce hang out waiting for teams to announce their intentions on whether they can field a team or not. Surely there needs to be a cut off point so that everyone can get organised. If he is adamant that Gisborne are not going to be there regardless of what other teams can or can't field a team, then he needs to front up and say so. All this secret squirrel stuff is doing no-one any favours. How long does he hang out....it would seem until every other stone is turned over in order to fill the roster of teams without calling upon G team, with the hope of 12 sides. If Rees were in the Wanganui side would they now be listed in the confirmed teams list. Have doubts they would be. The secret squirrels would still be at work. 2 weeks and 2 sides to sort for a draw of 12 teams, a good amount of teams races (12) that many have already paid a price expecting to see...

The name Auckland Warriors doesn't sound good because they seldom make the top eight....

If they can get a side together good luck to them. Just need enough cars and enough pilots for them

Mind you in saying that wanganui has had ring ins the last two years?

On the other hand, the WANGANUI Warriors are twice-in-a-row beaten Grand Finalists, and are ready to take a step up on the podium Which is why it would be a shame to see them race with a couple of ring ins and a couple of locals. Mind you in saying that wanganui has had ring ins the last two years? Only one ring-in last year Obby; Shaun Pearson. And he came under of plenty of pressure in the off season to change his number to 112V. Bevan Humphrey contracted to Wanganui last season, and has run both his stockcar and the superstock as 54V this year. But what would you rather have; a Wanganui team (or substitute Auckland, or Baypark, or Glen Eagles) with a ring-in or two, or no team at all? Our superstock numbers are down this season as the class rebuilds. We've lost Kyle Heibner (injury) and Kerry Podjursky (retired) from last year's team. We have two guys racing in the class this year in their first seasons of speedway and another returning from a serious illness. I'm still waiting to hear the final outcome of today's appeal for help. We're a small club, but we have left no stone unturned trying to put a team together, and we won't die wondering "what if...?". And if we HAVE got a team, then the hard work is just beginning. Life wasn't meant to be easy

Would you call the Giants ring in's or plastic?

Would you call the Giants ring in's or plastic? I think plastic are the ones that register to a track, don't teams race and don't support their new "home track" heat 3. Ring ins change tracks the week before the teams meeting then change back the week after. So not sure they fit in any of those categories.

Thanks for the update inventory, some great comments.
I guess my comments were based on how well the team has done last two years - be a shame to see two rings used just to make up the numbers, rather than take a year off to rebuild if need be.
Also did dion race a borrowed car last year that has now been sold, or does he have another superstock lined up

So here's a question...based on the generally agreed definition of a "ring-in", how many teams have never utilised this service?
I can only think of 3? Nelson, Rotorua and Team GB
In addition, of the 40 drivers to have completed 20+ Teams Champs races, only 14 of them stayed with the same team their whole career.
**Sorry for straying from the topic, was trying to outline just how prevalent the practice of patchworking a team together has become over the last 20 years**

The car Dion was supposed to race last year has been sold. It had mechanical issues on the first night, so Kyle, KP, Shaun and Bevan raced both races. On the second night, Dion drove the KP tank after Kerry was hurt in the Rotorua race on the first night. If we have a team this year, even with help from other tracks, I assure you we'll put on the best show we possibly can. If there are any sponsors out there who would like to support what has become everyone's second favourite team, PM me because if there's one thing getting a team to Teams Champs ISN'T, it's cheap

I see today in the land of Facebook the wanganui warriors are looking for anyone who wants to teams race to put the Warriors colours on The Club is doing everything it can to field a team Boner. Teams Champs wouldn't quite be Teams Champs without the Warriors, and we are trying as hard as we can to avoid that. Anyone want to lend me a car for the weekend....
