if a lot of people only goes to the team's meet then they wont know who is who regardless of number. shane harwwod would have to run his 1nz. not his usual number. how the hell is anyone going to know who it is? Most likely because the announcers will highlight his achievement in the grand parade. "18n is the new NZ Superstock Champion" Many of the punters will have seen 18n win the NZ Champs at Stratford not some made up number that relates to no one. but if hes dressed up as 1NZ no one will know what they are talking about when they say 18N in the grand parade

the Giants could organize their own teams race/s like most real deal teams have all ready done they don't just need to rely on the teams champs!, maybe if they had a few warm up teams races then the promoter would have seen they were going to be worth while at the teams Champs. Alternatively they could turn up unproven and see how they go. Bit like Rotorua last year. What was the result there in 4 car per team teams racing? And I think they had a few more races too make it through. Bruce is panthers through and through. He knows where the threats are.

Theres a Giz Giants thread your babble could go in... You're saying any side that hasn't had a teams race this year is not the "real deal"... Because you know lots .....Who has had teams races this year? And of those what teams have stayed the same? Those that don't fit that criteria are not "real deal" teams?? Couple of sides have had annual teams races and others have had a race organised for them pretty much - A vs Uk for example.

can't think of any super stock teams that have race yet this year! where did i say this year? Kardashians are on if your bored Beachball. How about posting something positive for a change. The rest of us just want to see great teams racing..hats off to any guy or girl that lines up to Superstock teams race..its brutal & expensive. With so much negativity surrounding the Rees and the Giants it's little wonder why we have lost some great drivers over the years..that got sick of the B.S Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure both Pete & Asher have both been past winners of the SPIKE and along with Taniwha form a pretty lethal trio.. We as the paying spectators will be the ones missing out to not have those guys on track as G vs M or P would of been well worth the entry fee alone.

as beach boy has eluded too this could have been done prior in the season g vs anyone. if you get back to the core of the matter it was the rees that walked out on the promotion and the club. i think their fans expectations probably exceed the situation especially when the ree's slammed the door on the way out. at this stage their has been no formal indication that they are out or in. one of the "g" contractees has eluded it could be either "A" or "G" that he races for so at least we know there will be the full compliment of 12 teams either way!

Buster..can you explain how G having a teams race earlier in the season was going to improve their chance of making it to Palmy?

To give some credence to being a team.

Buster..can you explain how G having a teams race earlier in the season was going to improve their chance of making it to Palmy? thus far its just been all talk.......until you are on the track and racing your not a genuine team. it took the nelson vipers many seasons before they were excepted.

So again. Theres a few non genuine teams entered at this stage then if were going on your on theory what makes them a genuine team.

this shouldn't need explaining. a genuine team is one that represents their club and province not "a" club or province. now i know what you are going to say next....there is a big difference between a ring in helping out and a full squad comprised of ring ins. if the all stars can muster a team with more locals than gizzy then they should be given preference (imo) regardless of how many ex gizzy representitives they may have. whether they are there or not is at the discretion of the promoter.

No I'm not going to say that although the AKL side will have drivers in it that are registered to at least 3 different tracks at a guess. (imo)
"Until you are on the track and racing you're not a genuine team" was your quote i queried. There are a few sides who have not raced this season, gizzy being only one of them, and newly formed sides who have not raced together either.

There are a few sides who have not raced this season, dizzy being only one of them, and newly formed sides who have not raced together either. dizzy yes but the other clubs have history. therefore they have preference. i would summise it has little to do with the ree's themselves but the promoter being loyal to the clubs that have supported the event and a preference for 12 teams. at this point i have not heard the all stars have given up. they deserve first crack at the last remaining spot.

No offence intended here I understand the fact your not a nelson supporter the number would have no meaning to u but to a the tigers aND all their supporters it's their team numbers Not just a meaningless number slapped onto the cars once a year to confuse u lot ... Personally I think u way off the mark with that comment

must be darn near 2 decades we have used those numbers. they have been warn with pride by all that have earn't the honor of wearing a tigers number. the numbers are just as important as are the stripes! nelson have also been the backbone of the teams along with a handful of other teams.
