My biggest problem with the park is the leaving the big water truck on the infield! Blocks the view from several spots around the track! Apart from that its awesome! Yes it could be spruced up but wat track is perfect? U name me 1!

Well watching the video of the last nationals team champs i hope the crowd returns ,be nice to see how it was a few moons ago ..when we all took part  Reading a post about the big water cart left in the centre ,yes i recall it happening ,and SNz also made the request to have it removed for virtually the same thing ..so old Charlie must be slipping up on things or Frances has fallen asleep .. The ASSCC inc have like many clubs certainly has had it ups and downs ,but when the nationals came around each year ,the response from other clubs ,has to be appreciated for the support they give .. One thing this sport has archived is a great friendship between each other and even been rivals on the day .. |

Streaming also costs extra money to provide, especially out of WP where there isn't already cameramen providing a stream to the big screen, so I don't imagine there's a lot of $$$$ to be made here. You won't attract Palmy like viewing numbers to the WP event, and won't be able to charge Palmy level fees either. Barry B Yes Barry,I understand. But have a little hope lol. if palmy was 18000 people and Auckland is 4000 to 6000 then theres a balance of 10 to 12000 people who like teams racing but wont be in town. at a rate of one purchase to 4 viewers and a price tag of 25 bucks theres a hundred k to go chasing each night and a positive future for the Nats and streaming... would be well worth someone getting those 18000 email addresses..imho |

If the 5 have teams named above are confirmed and with the same promoter as PN surely we should be able to get Rebels, Busters, Wildcats and maybe a Allstars team to make 9 and we still have Eagles, Warriors and Scrappers. I can understand if Eagles decide not to due to Travel distance but would love another upset against the Panthers if in the same draw?? I guess we all have to wait with baited breath for the formal announcements to come from each club and keep our fingers crossed that all clubs have unfinished business and see the reason to travel to Auckland!!!

After travelling to a number of events at PN over the last decade I wish we could have a venue like PN......... I'm sure Bruce and the WP club would agree as its much more friendly for the Punter and Racer ..... oh also the council with its running costs!!!!! Who ever the next mayor is Bruce needs to get him/her down to PN Teams to show case what it could be like if they do things right because if its ends up being Phil Goff we might have a chance cause he likes those noisy Harleys and that has to be good!!!!It needs to be a multi purpose arena for all year round use as that would also assist in getting our rate paying dollars spent where our interests are.
Oh well dreams are free but hopefully we might have the right person read this that could kick it in the right direction......... If only we had a Mad Butcher equivalent to fight for us that loves our sport as much as we do....

The Stratford Scrappers won't be entering this years Teams Nationals. It was originally planned to attend, but the team took a fair battering a few weeks ago in Palmerston North on both cars and drivers and the team has decided not to compete in this years event.

The Mad Butcher used to sponsor the Demo derbys at wacky park for years ..He is a huge fan of the sport ,and somewhere in the archives is a photo of him and Frances Irvine in a Rolls amongst the action .. |
