The Stratford Scrappers won't be entering this years Teams Nationals. It was originally planned to attend, but the team took a fair battering a few weeks ago in Palmerston North on both cars and drivers and the team has decided not to compete in this years event. That's a real shame, but fully understandable. The 41s hit into turn 2, and the 75s hit/roll in turn 3 would have been 2 of the biggest impacts of the weekend. And not to mention the 46w hit on the stationery Johnson.

From their Facebook page Evening All,
Unfortunately not the news I'm sure you all we're hoping for, the Wildcats will not be attending the Auckland Teams Nationals next weekend. With the dust settling on a enjoyable and reasonably successful Palmy campaign the squad has discussed and decided it's a bridge too far with damage being assessed and family commitments winning out on this occasion.

Isn't there an 8 day stand down after teams racing? How will the Rees and others race teams Nationals after teams racing in Gisborne this weekend?

......... If only we had a Mad Butcher equivalent to fight for us that loves our sport as much as we do.... The Mad Butcher used to sponsor the Demo derbys at wacky park for years ..He is a huge fan of the sport ,and somewhere in the archives is a photo of him and Frances Irvine in a Rolls amongst the action .. yup i remember that clearly....good times at WP

How does a seven team format work.
I know they need a double gate to offset costs but all teams race meets would handle 8 teams and below as a one night meet.
Awesome teams, but not sure of a 2 day meet.
