After watching last night I would expect it to be a rotorua gisborne final with palmy being the upset. Palmy hasn't performed that well for a couple years in stockcar teams. They got smashed by Canterbury last year

Quarter Final Preview
Rotorua vs Auckland A lap scorers nightmare first up as the 835's take on the 383's. Let's hope the electronic systems is up and working! Despite some line-up changes from last year, Rotorua looked polished through the group stage last night. By contrast Auckland struggled with unreliable machinery. Keegan Orr and Gary Lonergan are the key men for Auckland. Deal with them and the Alleycats are gone. Hard to see anything other than a Rotorua win.
Palmerston North vs Christchurch Were we a little quick to write off the Pumas? Drawn against strong Young Guns and Vulcans teams, the unfancied Pumas won both matchups. Christchurch made it through in a group where all 3 teams qualified courtesy of beating each other once and scoring decent second place points. The Pumas certainly had the stronger group to deal with and will be favourites for this one. Though you have to think there is going to be an upset somewhere and this one might be it.
Nelson vs Wanganui The Thunder ended up top of their group courtesy of a Waikato meltdown whilst Wanganui finished 2nd in their group. A mistake by Dion Mooney, passing his team mate who was the race leader and leaving him exposed to attack, ultimately lost them the race against the Pumas. The Vulcans have a good mix of class and experience. They will have learned from their loss and I expect them to win this one.
Gisborne vs Waikato The Gladiators justified the favourites tag, easily disposing of the Alleycats and Titans on night one. Despite the ease of their night one wins this matchup may have them a little worried. Waikato doesn't have the look of a team that can win but they do have the look of a team that can deny another team winning. The Raiders have some serious hitmen in their ranks. With the winning team being required to race three times on the night the Gladiators will be looking for a clean win. The Raiders will be disappointed to be in the bottom half of the draw. A colossal meltdown on their opening lap against the Thunder handing their southern opponents a 4 of the first 5 running spots after the first lap. That will fire them up for this clash. With nothing to lose I think the Raiders do some damage in this one but the Gladiators will take the chequered flag.

OK this is in no way offical, it is based on my understanding of what went on at a managers meeting this afternoon and some back of an envelope calculations thats have been done I can tell you tho that from Wellington team manegment there is NO issue with any Wellington cars being anything but legal. I can't comment for other teams
The way I (Based on what I have been told from different folk and based on nothing official) see tonights matches
Rotorua v Waikato
Nelson v Palmy
Gizzy v Chch
Wellington v Wanganui
Akl would rightfully be P'd if this is infact the case
I guess we hurry up and wait now huh

Hmm, interesting. I had heard that the supposed offending W car wasn't even going to the track tonight so I guess we'll have to wait and see on that one as well.

Is Wellington or Wanganui the higher qualified team?

Auckland didn't lose both races and should rightly be p'd off. They beat Blenheim and lost to the reigning champs.
