Leading by 29.8 secs with only 55km's left for day three.
Fingers crossed the goat tracks will be kind.
Worst rally ever to watch or listen to. Midnight start to half 6.

Yes this is a speedway site, but lots of people live rally, drift, marbels etc.
Possum has been a hero of mine, but Hayden has the goods, big time.

What Hayden Paddon achieved today in Argentina is sensational. If 10 years ago we were told a Kiwi would win a World Rally event we would likely have laughed. In that time Hayden has pegged away at reaching his goal of being a driver in the WRC and now we can dare to dream that he may become World Champion. No driver outside of Europe / UK is meant to win in WRC and lets face it...when Hayden made his first podium last season the NZ flag hoisted aloft was the property of a Kiwi fan in the crowd. Rod Millen and Possum were our first real hopes overseas, however Rod focused his efforts in the USA, and Possum for whatever reasons found himself as Subarus` Asia Pacific go to guy. Even Australias` Chris Atkinson made it to the top level with Subaru but could not sustain the journey, likely made more difficult when Subaru left the WRC. I even rate todays effort in Argentina as a greater feat than all of our achievements in circuit racing across the globe, simply because NZ has such a great heritage / legacy that harks back to Bruce McLaren, Denny Hulme and Chris Amon. Even with Possums great legacy it could never have made us believe that Hayden could reach the lofty heights that he now has. For Hayden to make today his own speaks volumes. He was 29.8 seconds in front and after 2 stages that was shredded to 2.6 seconds. He was frustrated and by his own words was not feeling too confident...the man now within striking distance was a 3 time World Champion after all. After a `mental reset` he gave it his all and hauled that gap out to 14.? seconds...simply stunning...Hayden Paddon had most certainly arrived! And to put this further into perspective, Hayden won the recent Otago Rally over current NZ Champion Ben Hunt...Haydens winning margin? 9 minutes 22 seconds!
Hayden Paddon we salute you!
Anthony

Hayden had some car trouble in the last few stages. it was nothing he couldnt handle when they worked out the glitch. something to do with the gearbox computer when he dropped from 2nd the 1st in the hairpins. he had to rest the car a couple of times and they lost time with it. but him and john kicked butt in the end. win 0.1sec or 14.sec. a win is a win. I have follows Haydan and john for about 8 years when he was in is 2nd or 3ed year in NZ rally. to know what he has done to get where he they are today is amazing. i take my hat off to the guys in timaru and around NZ that have given him the funding and hours of help over the years. they know who they are

With not being a huge rally fan but keeping up with the news ,has Hayden always raced with John?and are they related in some way.? Certainly a giant step for them both and good luck ,well deserved .Have always noticed that Latvala seems to make quite a habit of crashing out as well .

Oh before i forget Roger ,i was never perfect ,and never will be ,so just maybe turn a blind eye to my posts ,as i went to school to eat the other fellows lunch
