2016 SNZ Commentator of the year The defending champions have a 9 race gap to prepare for the Mustangs. A favorable draw for the Hawkeyes as they hunt for title number 2.

Scrappers must be happy with their draw. Best chance for a while I feel. Do your homework, you can do it.

Looks like the another advantage to being a seeded team is that you do get a 7 race gap between your events. The unseeded teams will have a 3 race gap. Big advantage and reward for doing well at the last champs!

Big advantage and reward for doing well at the last champs! That's one of the disdvantages of the 4-group, 12-team format over what's been used when there's 11 teams or 13 teams. However, I think it's the only disadvantage, the 4-group-format is much more consumer friendly, but certainly an incentive to be in the Top 4 for the next year's battle. Barry B

Told you the Panthers would be in either the Wildcats or the Lions group and an inexperienced Tigers team to top it off, nice thinking. Also a great move to put the Mustangs and Hawkeyes in the same group.

straight from the program? which would of been at the printer for a lil while? Some awesome races ahead though and Panthers haters cant complain to much. Not the easiest group by any means. Not surprised didnt get UK, Giants or the defending champs though. Nelson strengthened after the groups sort and sent to the printer??

Yep, happened once, and upsets will always be part and parcel of this event. Having said that, the Panthers have won a room full of championships so they must be on to something.
