We don't hear about every official action either. I wasnt saying it was cheating or worthy of penalty , just stating that it happens everywhere .. but you were accusing officials of bias when it suits.

127g ran over the 3 minutes but allowed to still race. Hmm... Set your watch at most meetings when drivers ask for 3 min bell. Im willing to bet that most go well past it . Not only at Palmy but at most tracks.. Another one is pole line cutting , you can go to most tracks and see cars cutting the pole line on a regular basis but nothing is said by officials but they seem to keep that rule up their sleeves for a bias call when it suits. In this case, on the big screen you could clearly see the official at the pit gate make a "time's up" signal before 127G's bonnet had been replaced. That was around 30 seconds after the infield commentator said there were 20 seconds left to go on the watch. It certainly seemed odd that 127G was then allwed to race, because from the video screen there was some pretty convincing evidence that his car was not race-ready (i.e. bonnet securely in place) at the expiry of the three minutes. As it was, it had no bearing on the final outcome. Hawkes Bay and the GB Lions were absolutely brilliant in their respective semi-finals in what were two of the best teams races I have ever seen (and I go back to a point well before the first Teams Champs )

There as also an interview/rules explanation segment filmed at the Square with Ross Thurston on Saturday that was played before racing started on Sunday where he said that they won't ping every infringement, but would instead only punish when an advantage was gained, for example making a pass on the grass

Agreed Gordon. It's almost a case of yellow card/red card depending on the severity of the infraction. Some may only get a refs warning - like any other sort I suspect. One wheel v four wheels over the pole line - there's a huge difference. Passing a car under the pole v running in clear track v getting a car back under control - again, huge differences. Cutting a corner to take another competitor out v running side-by-side and battling through a corner - the same again. It's not bias (in most cases); it's referee discretion - and it happens in every sport.

If a car arrives at the gate at minute 2 he gets 1 minute. They normally hold the Crews back to let everyone get to the gate. Then start the watch when the crews get the go ahead.

Add that to the plainly obvious over time to correct the problem and you have fertile ground for those who indulge in conspiricy theories on this forum. This thread would be up to about page 10 by now if he had a p after his number. Awesome nights racing with the bay's win over the panthers one of the best.

Also using tow truck to change tyre or springs rates is outside assistance too which is a grey area

Correct pfloyd they were only doing warm up laps & don't come under Jurisdiction of the referee's until the track is handed over to them from the Clerk of the Course

Its an interesting one, knowing what I know, which is no more than what your average fan in the stands saw & heard, Rees Jr wouldn't have started if I was in charge. A couple of others of note, the tow truck ride wasn't a problem in my eyes. outside assistance is by implication allowed before the drop off the green. A car just needs to make the track under its own power to get the time. Which obviously he did. The most interesting one was on night 1 with Hemi travelling to the pit gates under reds. If he was given the go ahead by an infield official, then no problem. Here is where it gets tricky tho and the fact he didn't start makes it a moot point but.... The race hasn't started so there is no race infringement to deal with, the ref was in charge of the track cause the gates were closed, but I beleive yellows should have been thrown. Again that's hypothetical cause they weren't, it went red. I beleive a fine would have been appropriate in this case, again if he (hemi) wasn't instructed to move by an official.
