There is 1 three min bell per race, not per car. If a car arrives at the gate at minute 2 he gets 1 minute. They normally hold the Crews back to let everyone get to the gate. Then start the watch when the crews get the go ahead. Can you quote a rule number for this? As I cant find it R 12-3-4 & R 12-3-9

There's a little more to this situation than people are discussing.
First off the man on the gate made an error in allowing crew members over the gate before the 3-minute bell period had been initiated. An infield official was right on to the situation and crews went back over the pit gate. Then the Lions manager came over and discussed the situation with his driver and appeared to relay the circumstances to a crew member. I'd be very surprised if managers are allowed to do that and it appeared from the live stream that the manager got a telling off from an infield official.
I'm not saying that two wrongs make a right but I don't believe the Giants were the only team to gain an unfair advantage from this 3-minute bell. If 127g should have been sent infield then you also have to seriously consider a similar sanction on the GB car that appeared to receive assistance outside the 3-minute bell.

As I say I was in the grandstand so some distance away and could only just hear the commentary, so didn't know about the GB car. The ref may have decided to off set both indiscretions.

I dunno but just guessing here You could clearly see the official wave his hands at the team to indicate time is up? Imagine the backlash if that was a panthers car.

The three minute bell used to ring at the gate so every one had a fair opportunity to fix whatever was needed .It was loud enough that you could here .so doesnt it ring no more ,and why ??I think it was allowable to use a tractor to change only a tyre for safety reasons ..I can still see in my mind Graham Pearcey waving his arms around like a seagull with a broken wing ,once the bell stopped to get the cars back on track ..

Its an interesting one, knowing what I know, which is no more than what your average fan in the stands saw & heard, Rees Jr wouldn't have started if I was in charge. A couple of others of note, the tow truck ride wasn't a problem in my eyes. outside assistance is by implication allowed before the drop off the green. A car just needs to make the track under its own power to get the time. Which obviously he did. The most interesting one was on night 1 with Hemi travelling to the pit gates under reds. If he was given the go ahead by an infield official, then no problem. Here is where it gets tricky tho and the fact he didn't start makes it a moot point but.... The race hasn't started so there is no race infringement to deal with, the ref was in charge of the track cause the gates were closed, but I beleive yellows should have been thrown. Again that's hypothetical cause they weren't, it went red. I beleive a fine would have been appropriate in this case, again if he (hemi) wasn't instructed to move by an official. It is irrelivent now but I also thought Hemi moved while the red lights were on. All his team mates stopped in turn 1 amd 2. I have always believed that practice laps were under racing rules (happy to be corrected) I do not recall seeing an official near the car when it was moving, they were more interested in retrieving the wheel.

Sorry Ramjam but that is not the case. The ref only becomes in charge once the COC hands it over, which is generally when the cars are gridded and ready to race

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is the relevant rule (sorry for being pedantic). This is what should be remembered, when it comes to teams races. Rule R12-4-1 (b)

although it is done and dusted on streaming hemi,s offence was shown in slow motion showing him gaining ground after been pushed onto the poleline against the hawke eyes on night one which disqualified him from that race but nothing was shown toward 82s offence against England from what I read on face book both committed the same offence wheel or wheels over the pole line so should they both have got the same punishment what the officals are saying one is more of a cheat than the other I don,t think so what do you people think ::)oh to my friends who missed me this year refer to the most recent lock thread

Would have thought you'd give as much as you got Roxy? ? Anyway it's over for the year, bring on the next. A quick question. If a wheel gate comes loose, it's a danger, I understand, infield you go. If a wheel gate falls off, what's the difference to a front wheel falling off?

With out getting shot at and not being able to smell the roses ,Just maybe loosing the wheel gate totally and laying on the track becomes a danger and because your car is the culprit that is why the red light is activated so off you go unfortunately. Didnt Wayne Hemi hit a wheel gate that some one else had dropped off to which was a lengthy discussion on here ..But the actual difference is relatively the same i guess .
