Well done to The Hawkeyes. Hope that they let Hemi have a small sip out of the cup! Great racing putting every thing on the line.

What impressed me most about the Hawkeyes was the way Regan O'Brien was able to slot in seamlessly for the final when Mike Mac sat it out. Even though he had watched the Hawkeye's other three races from the infield, Regan drove the race of his life and made a number of crucial stops and blocks.
The organisation behind the Hawkeyes has upped its game in the last two seasons, and it shows in the results. They are now well and truly the #1 team in the country, and everyone else is going to have to raise their game to another level to take them down.

Same car that took the race win as last year as well, Great team effort by a well balanced team.

The thing that amazes me about the Hawkeyes is that everyone knows what they are going to do yet they can't stop them. It's a bit like the Busters team of the early 2000's.
Everyone knows Thomas Stanaway and Steve Jude are going to run whilst Long/ Mike Mac/ O'Brien are going to block. Everyone knows when Jason Long lines up on the outside of the front row that he is going to be on the brakes. Yet they still get the job done.
When your opposition knows what you're going to do and you still beat them time and time again you are a top quality team.

Congratulations Hawkeyes, you done us HB fans super proud. The best team definitely won on the night. You drove spectacularly all weekend, and it just goes to show; anything can happen on race night. Hawkes Bay all day!

For a change I agree with you Percy. Every race was started exactly the same by the hawkeyes and they still pulled it off. Incredible team. Jason long was outstanding in that semi showing in my mind he won that race chev was stopping stanaway but long was trumping everyone, one slip up and panthers would have won but he was darn near faultless in those dying stages. Its good to see the maulers combo of obrien and mike mac back together again.

Yeah they went good, interestingly enough the final last night was the first time in the last 2 years that they used there 5th car, all teams races last year and this year up until the final were ran by 16b, 41b, 87b and 84b.
Got a good foundation of a team, they made some dumb moves Saturday night against mustangs but still got thru, Sunday was pretty clinical.
