It has me dumbfounded why people would sit in the grandstand knowing that people would need to get past them etc to either go to the toilet or to get food. Last night we dressed in our GB getup for the second night and like most we enjoyed a few drinks and the great racing. But when my wife got up to go to the toilet with our daughter the first time they were abused by a group of people, told to go the other way then pushed and told to F off and that they shouldn't be drinking or walking past them. On there return the same thing but one of them pulled my wife's GB flag she had around her. Now these people weren't young 55-65yrs old and were obviously panthers supporters who were a little upset that there team where wearing The big L! The second time my wife and daughter went to get drinks the same thing happened but this time one of the older guys in his late 60s thought it was ok to man handle my wife!!! Now that's were the buck stopped & I had to have some stern words with this group of people who told me that they were panthers fans and this was there place and we should piss off!!! Some people should just stay home and watch Coro St rather than go to speedway knowing it's going to be packed house and it's going to be noisey and a party atmosphere. Rant over and if those people are on here and reading this post I suggest maybe next year you either stay home or just pull you head out if your ass. If I weren't enjoying myself so much by watching the awesome racing I would have thrown you over the side of the grandstand as I said to you but I wanted to watch the final rather than explaining my actions to the boys in blue!

Pretty common sense alright Mr Cadbury novelty bar. We had a bloke at the start of our row who had arrived before most of the rest of the row and was well grumpy with everyone who arrived and had to get passed him. Everyone had to ask if they could get passed or you were ignored till you spoke up. I always buy extra drink and food as I go to my seat so I don't miss the action. If this annoys you then don't buy Seats on the end eh

These people were to gutless to say anything to me or my daughters boyfriend but to actually push and man handle the girls just wasn't on. There was actually 10 or more of them in our row and a few more in the row in front of us so we had no choice but to go past them.

We have sat in the Grandstand for many years now and would not consider getting up once racing has started. We always have everything we need organised and can understand people being annoyed if they regularly having to let others past. Sorry mate even though the people you refer to were very rude, I still have little sympathy as good Grandstand etiquette is once seated stay seated and most in our section observe this. We have solved having to stand up for others by sitting in the middle of the row.

Valid points but with the non allowance of bringing in commercial food or drinks it's a bit hard to not get out of your seat and from my observation there were a lot of people doing it not just us. Also to stay seated for nearly 5 hours without needing to use the urinal is a bit hard for us older generation!

This is an interesting dilemma. Last year we had an end rower report us to security for being intoxicated and tripping over him when going to get drinks. Luckily it was clear to the guard we weren't drunk and nothing more came of it. This year we went for end row seats and put ourselves in the firing line. Mildly annoying when peoplel moved during races .
Been a few years since I've been in the grandstand but the embankment seats allow very little movement room. Get a bigger person (not many of those at a speedway) and it is really hard to move. Definitely a poor design but seat numbers maximised probably saves a price rise.
Point is that it's hard being on the end and it's hard being in the middle. This Is a no win situation really but people's attitudes (your panthers fan and the security mark last year) need to change. It's the arenas fault we trip over each other so no value and n getting annoyed with each time other.
Next years goal is backing onto the walkway to solve all this issues.

Its a little selfish in my opinion to expect everyone in a crowd of thousands to stay seated and not get hungry, thirsty or need to use a toilet for 4 - 5 hours odd. Good grandstand ettiquette is not being an arsehole to others

I'm sorry to hear it was a panthers fan who was so rude. No one owns the arena and all the fans make the event and behind my home team I'm pushing for GB to bring home a win. We always get end seats cause we know people in our party will be in and out for drinks and smokes as well as kids for bathrooms. But with that you get the mid row coming and going. Only get annoyed if they do it DURING a race which someone did last night. I considered that beyond belief. I'm sorry from the rest of us that happened especially to a female (or anyone but especially a woman and child) not all panther fans are that ride or entitled and next time get security to kick them out. You won't have to deal with anything just the door guys.

I actually prefer sitting on the end seat. It means I don't annoy anyone if I have the need, don't have to do the grandstand waltz when needing to move and if some clown wants to move during a race a short step in to the isle means I don't miss any action. Can't understand why people pay good money to watch great action and leave part way thru a race.

Its sad to hear. But speedway crowds are not very freindly. Most are quite good. But alot are quite rude. Achole always fuels volince. And when most people thought it was going to be a all palmy final. To have no palmy team there. With achole is always going to ebd in abuse. All you need to do is look at them the wrong way. go thinking fans are a bunch of ...... saves a problems. The great people are the drivers and crews.

Sorry Chunky but most people do not have a few drinks before the nights racing. Many people can have fun without alcohol. If you consume enough that you have to regularly go to the toilet then maybe you would be best streaming next year. In my first year at Palmerston I saw one person explain to another that they are happy to let them in and out between races but not during them. I agree

As for the piss smuggling! Wasn't it the lady you were with that was getting wine from her bag??? Oh you forgot that??? As for getting up 5 or 6 times is this dementia or just the amount of laps your team managed to complete? You abused and man handled my wife the first time she went past you and you know it! As for security they were informed and about your antics of which was being monitored. So great little story Tiger fan but hey get ya facts right and stop talking BS!!!!
