Put it this way. If you ask some one not to do something. But they didnt listen and did it any way. Would you get angry. I would. Never raced a car and wolnt. Both have fair points. And thats all i will say of the matter.

Having raced a variety of vehicles before I'd rather lose doing the right thing than win doing the wrong thing but that's just me

A VERY interesting read & backs up what I posted about in the first place. What is SNZ doing, making a joke of the sport !!!
From 67p Facebook Page:
Well, it's taken time to think about the weekends effort.
The boys were obviously disappointed on Friday after the Meeanee race. I think some of our supporters were more disappointed in the commentary during that race. It kinda gets old after all, we're a new team and trying new things out. We think the other teams had worked out early that there was no rules, no punishment for breaking rules, and not racing to the teams code of ethics was the way to win. It sure worked but leaves skill and tactics out. In hindsight we should have guessed that when there was no drivers meeting. Makes for great watching but very hard on drivers bodies and gear.
Auckland and Rotorua were the stand out teams of the weekend and we are looking forward to next year where I'm sure the meeting will be run to a higher standard. We were hoping Nelson would be up there too as that would be a trip to look forward to. Ooh and the Nelson and Wanganui race was awesome as that takes skill to not hit any of the other teams cars. A protest that sadly many don't know what it was for. Well done guys.
We all had a great time, that's the trade off on not qualifying. So much more relaxed and actually had a quick look around Gisborne which is good because we don't have to go back and be subjected to that again. We thought we might make it to the NZs next year but after a poor running of this meeting we decided to not bother.
One other thing I wanna say, Hutchby I would have done the same thing! Although I might have unclipped his belts.
I'll try and post next time about 67p and the fun we have etc instead of the Pumas. Can't guarantee it thou as I love teams racing.

the white flag was given to the Rotorua car which had completed 11 of the 12 laps, that car then completed a 12th lap and the chequred flag wasnt given ( i know not why) the Rotorua car then did 2 more laps with the Gisborne cars closing in and then the chequered was then given. im my opinion the flag should be given to the first car to complete 12 laps no matter what the other cars position is at the time

I was sitting on that corner where hutch got hit 1.2.3 times while stationary not once did he have the thumbs down so his intentions were to carry on and do as much damage as he could

"That hutchby hit was right in front of me. he had both hands out his car windows facing the on coming phillips the last time he was hit. he had no intentsion for hitting phillips. thats what set him off. remember he was also facing the wrong way. so looking straight at phillips as it happened. so yea thats why the reaction." Did you have your Taranaki Sunglasses on Roxcyford

The rules were broken all weekend. What happened to...you were sitting right there and he didn't have his arms out the window ? Might need to pop back to Specsavers and get some new ones

[/quote] championship meetings in many classes this year have had big problems with rules and officiating, not just this meeting. NZ sprint cars, minisprints and saloons have had major problems on the night. different tracks with different officials.

Yea i agree totally but this thread is about the Gisborne meeting. Back to my original post, I don't understand how this stuff happens when SNZ run these meetings ? Are they all not taught the same rules and how to deal with issues when they become SNZ Officials ? If what Mr Wilson posted on Facebook is 100% true, since when are NZ meetings run with out a drivers meeting And at a meeting that could have such an impact of drivers lives. Would be interesting to hear what a SNZ Official has to say about this....

I'm not on Facebook so don't know what was said but I can confirm there was a fairly intense/intensive managers meeting but no drivers meeting held for the teams drivers on night one. I don't think I've ever seen that happen before.

yes roxy he didnt go thumbs down. but you still cant hit a stationary car. rules are there to protect drivers. thats the sad part about the whole meeting. drivers health and well being doesnt seen to come into things at all. on and off the track. because without them there wouldnt be a championship. but also want to know the last time a nz stockcar team champs ran without convervesity? read the teams racing rules. Stationary cars are fair game if in an attacking position.

The racing incidents are controlled by SNZ. The club puts on the facilities and hands over control.
