UPDATE......
13 teams have indicated they'd like to attend, and maybe one more. Rotorua are the only team that have actually sent an entry form, and entries close on Monday 11th. Yes this Monday coming so there must be a few entries on the way.
There is additional seating being installed before Xmas, and when they are up we'll know exactly how many there are (space dependant). The promotion don't believe there is a need to have reserved seating for the NZ Stockcar Teams given how many seats we are hoping to end up with. (NZ Superstocks will have reserved seating on the front straight, and back straight if demand is there), There was 5000 at our Derby a few weeks back without the extra 1500 - 1800 seats yet to be installed from Mt Smart Stadium.
Until all entries are received/confirmed we also don't know if there will be any support classes. Not likely for the first night of racing, but possibly for the second night. And more than likely A registered Stockcars only, and Teams drivers not in finals.
The Club and promotion are working on having scrutineering at Taumanu Reserve, right next to the South Western Motorway in Onehunga.
Any questions? if I can answer I will.......

Rotorua had an amazing night two non quilfing system championship. Why has it never been used since? Even at 5 teams 5 cars using local guys to help fill out numbers or 6 at 5 like rotorua did. Still such a waste. What format oh night two the quarters semis final or palmy teams format?

The Gisborne Gladiators team has been named to head to Auckland to contest the 2017/18 NZ Stockcar Teams Champs. The team is Peter Rees Ethan Rees James Clarke Jason Lovell Mason O'Dwyer 6th driver: Mike Herbert.
Ben Holt was meant to be in the team but got injured last night, so I hear.

Yeah, poor bugger was going great. Didn't seem a big hit in turn 3/4. Carted off after getting out, to the ambo. Guess he had a sleep? Mad Man Mason, my guess, blockman with speed. I'd prefer Mike in there, but which to leave out? Jas has the speed, James has the hitting, Mas is 1st year? Best of luck boys.

Bens hit was huge, car is very second hand, and yep Ben had a sleep and broken leg Didn't appear like that, from where we were sitting. Directly in front of us, sitting in the apex of the corner. Was a good hit for sure, but didn't think it as going to have THAT outcome. Speedy recovery Ben, sad to see you miss the team selection.

No James Kirk? Thats a shame, and Squeaky! Yeah a bit sad not to see Kirk in the team. He was a bit of a hero in Rotorua when he had to make his debut in the final after being the reserve all weekend and he did a great job. Maybe he just has other commitments.

Don't tell us Bruce has retired, we expected he would clock up at least another 100 teams races. He had just reached his prime as well.
