It is with sadness, that dad, Harry Pierson has passed away after his battle with alzeheimers. His career spanned from Aranui speedway, racing stockcars, then to Templeton stockcar scrambles, moving on to stockcars then stockrods at templeton speedway. Supermodifieds were the next drawcard in his racing and then eventually turning to sprintcars winning the NEW ZEALAND SPRINTCAR CHAMPIONSHIP 1976-77 SEASON, in christchurch finishing his racing in 1984 in nz. He raced at most tracks in nz and moved to brisbane and raced at archerfield for a while. He was privileged to know and race with some of the best, Bill Warner, Ron Wanless, Barry Butterworth, Roger Bertram etc. He was a great competitor and father and i was proud to have raced with him and against him. RIP DAD Wayne Pierson

Harry certainly was one of the guns! he rode with the evolution from Stockcars through to Sprintcars . A Hard racer who always had immaculately prepared and presented cars. I was just a young fella hanging around the Sprintcar part of the pits but Harry was always very friendly...and happy to answer the 200 pesty questions that I seemed to have. A life well lived, and a man that contributed much being one of the unheralded guys who , with his wife Marion at his side helped turn a shingle and stone covered piece of land into what is now Ruapuna Speedway. RIP Harry AJ
