Me to. An official breakdown of points for each race would clarify things. My original statement regarding Nelson getting 10 points in their first race may have been fixed and their points from their second race may explain their overall total. Could be but at the same time Tasman could of got 3rd and 5th giving them 170. 135 + 35. As auckland gother the points for 1st 2nd and 4th 160 + 25 =185 sof based in that no. But everyone is so confused. Imagine if it was 5 vs 5 omg or has that caused the issue in a round about way with lots of 4 cars finishes.

Reading the entry from it just says top 5 get points it doesn't specify that they have to finish the race maybe this is where some confusion has come from

Points are;1st 100p,2nd 40 pts,3rd 25pts,4th 20 pts, 5th 10pts.Hayden regularly gave out the full finishing order results because it's important to do in case there are any relegations or disqualifications. The Tasman Thunder won their race against Auckland and this was confirmed by both the ELS and the manual back up. If that result has been overturned by officials, especially if they've used video evidence, which they stated would not be allowed, it would be a travesty. The only acceptable video evidence should be a locked off camera of the start finish line, and that should be mandatory and used by officials as a backup anyway. Especially when you get the instance of 3 cars with transponders not working, which happened in the Meanee v Kihikihi race. Re the sound system, I can only say that Hayden and I are probably the most frustrated about the sound last night. We have no issues until outside people come and plug in their gear. It happens too often and makes it incredibly difficult to do the commentary properly, when instead, we're chasing annoying sound issues that aren't of our making. Finally, we commentate for the spectators at the track, we do not do the commentary for the live stream. They are allowed to take our feed and utilise it for the livestream. I don't believe that will change anytime soon. Looking forward to a fantastic night tonight where we can concentrate on the track action! Those guys give it their all and are so brave (mad).

I've read that they did indeed use video footage. Apparently the viewed 4 different videos including the stream video to make there decision to over turn the result.

Yes but of the last 2 Laps only? Not a lock off, of the start finish line, which is the only the way to verify cars across the line for every lap.

Can't see if the stream evidence would overturn anything. The number of times the lead car was not in frame would make it null and void.

Malcolm Sines But in stockcars they have to be still mobile to be counted, even 5 laps down. Not like saloons, where they are counted as they go in field. My comment about comms wasn't to be negative, it is just the only way we could tell what was happening, coinciding with what we could see on screen.

To clarify are you saying the officials stated in drivers briefing they would not be using video evidence this meeting?

Agree Tank. Sounds interesting with what Mal suggests, Nelson won on ELS and manual back up. Maybe a Nelson car looped around after crossing the timing loop, and crossed again. Are the results now set in concrete?

That's kind of auckland to knock out a palmy driver after the flag.. Was that an unfortunate choice of words or are palmy down a driver & if so who is out?

I enjoyed the night, Gary Worthington back to his best, hope the car is up to more of the same tonight!
With the Auckland v Nelson race (just from my old eyes watching) I thought Keegan had won the race - was surprised when they said Tasman had the win. But then a number of people around us all started saying the same thing. Its a pity there was confusion as now it all gets messy and takes away from some awesome racing.
As a long time Alleycats fan, all Ill say is we have been on the receiving end of some unfortunate calls MANY times at this particular meeting so it kind of feels like for once we got a call going our way. (Wait fort the torrent of abuse LOL). The boys will just have to turn up tonight and prove they are worthy night 2 qualifiers and Im sure they will.
It will be a great finals night, and how good did old Waikaraka Park look last night - well done to all involved.

Nelson are in and race Wellington tonight in the first teams race. This is getting harder to pick than a broken nose. I was under the impression that SNZ voted against, or where against using 'video-evidence' to determine the outcome of any decision making.

So is there actually a list of official results and draw for tonight anywhere? I mean I know it's only 2017 and communication isn't easy. I visited the waikaraka website... And want my Internet stuff back. Between this and the debacle at the springs with the test match points the other night, it's no wonder the sports media at large give our sport the same attention they give other pass times like tiddlywinks
