What an incredibly jack attitude by lockett, his car was by far the worse of the lot and he still insisted on weaking the team by taking the grid. I know ya get a different impression on the stream but I think you're a bit harsh on Lockett. They had several very beaten up cars after that semi, it was a case of putting ya cleanest dirty shirt on to go for a job interview, I don't know for sure but I think if it was 5 car teams on the track they possibly would only have fronted with 4. Josh was pretty despondent after the final knowing his car had given trouble, but like the whole team he should be proud of the part he played

Just got back from the meeting. Have to say Stormers were the class of the field all night. Have not seen such a continuous level of on track organisation by a team since the days of the Unsmashed P. Very very clinical. Yes W had car issues in the final but I really think it wouldn't have made a difference. Every member of that Stormers team knew what their job was in each race, and those jobs did change from race to race - witness Tyler Walker- and did that job extremely well.
As regards 56 starting I was very surprised, but with the TM advising that Gaskin was driving the Tye car instead of the 6th driver I wonder just how healthy the 52 was?
Yes the supports were absolutely pathetic, seems some things never change at WP.
On the thumbs down situations the R car was making so many gestures from where I was sitting, in front straight grandstand almost level with him, that it would have been easy enough to mistake one of them for a thumbs down. Of course the situation was exacerbated by Stewart? arriving to give the required push just as the reds lit. In the case of 2Ks I don't have a lot of sympathy as I also thought I saw a Thumbs Down after several laps sitting stationery. It looked to me as if he had finally given up on getting his push but in the interminable age it took to actually throw the red after the infield official gave notice, which took quite some time and involved more than one official looking at the car/driver so it shouldn't have caught the light operator by surprise, of course one of his team mates finally decided to pull in behind - just as the lights were thrown.
Cheers Lee

Im guessing the Mod and few super stocks were there to get in the amount of meetings they needed to run to go to the NZ title for their respective classes. Helped give the teams a bit more time to prepare also as in the programme they were only down for one run but being in the pits - some of the damage was incredible and as you saw some teams couldn't front with four good cars.

That would have been fine and sandy is it was in addition to, not a substitute for a support programme

Menu was stockcars, stockcars and more stockcars so punters were not ripped off at all. Like Gregobro said, super stocks and mod would have been there just to check things out. No issues with that and track should be applauded for giving them the opportunity. Hardly something to pregnant dog about

Absolutely correct. Schedules are such that this was the only opportunity for a couple of drivers to get their qualifying runs for the respective NZ's, especially as the forecast over the next few days is less than promising. For the teams it was bonus repair time as Wellington had two front ends and a gearbox to replace between the semi and final. For the crowd, it was convenient pit stop time without missing any of the races. Where's the problem with any of that?

88p and 591p surely didn't need to run in order to have enough meetings under their belts to enter the NZs. They did however get a run in on the championship track before the NZs in 2 weeks time. Was the event sent to others or was it an opportune hit out for them?

The Palmy registered superstocks wouldn't have needed more meetings before the NZ title, all 3 had just done the GP & have run at Palmy this season. I suspect they are doing the Auckland title & the opportunity arose for some track time

We needed the extra time between races, but didn't have the pit space for more cars.

In not b!tching, but it will make me think twice about running back to waikaraka Park for anything. How many stockcars were there who weren't in teams that ran 10 ish? So that's 11 teams x5 cars =55 + 10 extras=65 cars. Jingos if that + 6 cars is the capacity then you have fairly major problems coming up in a few weeks.

The designated pit is limited but as in the past extra room has been used outside the pit area, usually used for sport practices, and I would imagine this will be the case for the Superstocks. The clean-up of this area following a meeting is such that you wouldn't want to be using it unnecessarily and inconvenience other users and of course any damage would be frowned upon.

Was there an issue with the 11g & 127g on the 2nd night or they didn't want to risk being KO'd as NZ Superstocks is just around the corner or...? Totally understand but just thought it was strange as Pete's car didn't even do a race lap all weekend 😂😂
