Thought I'd start a thread so those who went to the meeting can provide some feedback on what went well and what didn't go well.
Please be constructive on any issues so the promotion can make improvements prior to the NZ Superstock Title.

Leave the water truck in the pits during races!

Certainly relevant last night as with only 8 cars every race and barely half of them actually racing at speed, the track didn't need as much work during the meeting; and the big truck did nothing more than block the view. That won't be the case at the NZ's with 24 Supers out race after race after race after.................

I wasn't at the meeting, did the Videohub thing so three comments Percy if I may: 1. The commentators were noticeably frustrated at the amount of time it took to move damaged stockcars off the track and called for an increase in tow trucks saying something along the lines of "Scotty Miers can you bring some tow trucks from Palmy...." I agree it appeared to be a long time to sort this out. 2. I'll be doing the Videohub again for the NZ Superstocks so be good if the microphones can be sorted out as both nights there were problems including an annoying screeching sound coming through night 2. My understanding is the microphones were an issue at the track as well. 3. More description of what's happening in the pits eg damage done to cars, referees etc. It really is an art that Mintie and Paul do at major events at Paradise Valley. Somehow they work well together in linking the pit action to the spectators. This creates momentum for the meeting and interest high. All the best Auckland for the NZ Superstocks!

A decent flag man wouldn't go a miss either. one who keeps up with action himself instead of waiting for the call in his ear.

Place looked good thanks to Puk and his team of men from Palmy. First night was a bit stop/start with only 2 tow trucks and 3 KO's. Night 2 flowed better in my opinion. Racing was very hard and fast. Feedback from drivers is track was good. New temp grandstands well utilised with night two around 500 more than night one. Lots of campers in the carpark. Concrete wall held up, no fence damage just a bent pit gate. Bar was very busy till about 2am. Well done Stratford on the win.

Meeting started on time (or a little early) - great. Commentators are fine.
Most of the criticism is not necessarily a WP issue Perhaps the rules need to be tidied up or enforced - if not on the track within certain time of the gates opening - you don't race. If not on the grid a certain time after being summoned to grid up you stay on the infield.

I thought the event really well. Good amount of food options. I did notice though down on turns 1 &2 the red flag guys were incredibly slow. I'm used to other tracks where as soon as lights are going to go on they are out waving there flags these guys were not. looked like they were just going for a leisurely stroll on the beach.

To be fair this shouldn't be an issue as Stockcars are a national class and one-way radio's are compulsory. When the reds come on officials should be advising drivers as such. In saying that I am hearing a number of tracks are not using the one-way radio system. I sincerely hope that is not the case.

I'm anti tarps. They looked like they were left out overnight so no one else on the second night had the opportunity to sit in that space. Get rid of them. If you want reserved seating pay for it like the rest of us I think they're doing a very good job of providing seating considering the issues outside the club and promotions control

Who was the main commentator? What good did he do to promote the sport. He seemed to moan and whinge about every little thing he could. Any first time viewers would of got the idea that it was a poorly run meeting and that the officials and team managers were trying to slow the whole meeting down. Also funny to see that Bruce allows two clubs he promotes to wear the triple digit confusing numbers that he doesn't like.

Also funny to see that Bruce allows two clubs he promotes to wear the triple digit confusing numbers that he doesn't like. I don't imagine any promoter in the country has any input into the numbers their Stockcar team wears. Promoters have 27,000 better things to worry about. For purposes of this title it is a SNZ allocated title so local rules such as no number changes can't be applied.

I felt as there were huge issues with points being given. And teams getting points where they shouldn't of. Stratford had a very easy night two. But a hard night one. Where I felt even the maulers were favored through wellys vs rotorua both destroying themselfs in there semi. But even if gissy were in and thunder were out. Would of made 4 of the top 5 teams on the same side. Why didn't wellys race h.b in the semi? As that would of made more sense. As h.b were 4th and and wellys 1. So question that side of things to. Just the flow of information on night one was a mess. Which I feel effected who raced who on night two. Not a problem in superstocks nz through.

They should have had another class running or 2 on the 2nd night, not practice laps for 4 superstocks and 1 mod. Meeting was good, just felt flat compared to other Champs where the crowd gets behind it.

The cans were cold so i was happy on that front
The sound system, I was sitting on turn four and and the echoe between the speakers in the pits (control tower) and the speakers on the main straigt made it impossible to make out what was being said. Night two was better than night one.
And yeah and the amount amount of gear in the middle of the track blocking sight lines, some gear cant be avioded, and It was good to see the big water truck get moved early on in the meeting.
The tow truck crews didnt seem to gel.
At ground level they cant see everything going on, maybe someone sitting with an overview and directing them in the right direction might help.
Some sort of direct coms for them, might be a good idea for the NZs.
Can the drivers channel be used for communicating to them, one way, as well ? i.e tow truck to turn four etc
