There will be has been an announcement at 3pm this afternoon on the Wanganui Warriors Facebook Page.

The Warriors are back!

The Wanganui Warriors will be back at the ENZED Superstock Teams Championship in Palmerston North next week.

Wanganui Stockcar and Speedway Club President and Warriors manager Daryl James announced the team this afternoon:

Dion Mooney (Captain)
Scott McIntosh
Shaun Pearson
Chad Ace
Clint Hill
Francis Potaka (sixth driver)

Daryl James says the team is thrilled to be back, after missing last year’s event.

“The Superstock class is growing in Wanganui but a number of drivers were not yet ready for teams racing. 2016 captain Bevan Humphrey is still waiting on a motor. That is why the WSSC has approached two experienced campaigners in Chad Ace and Clint Hill” he said.

With Wanganui due to host the New Zealand Superstocks in 2019-20, the class is in good heart. The Warriors have a long history at the Palmerston North event, and the WSSC was determined to field a competitive team this season.

“A lot of work has gone in behind the scenes to put this team together” said Daryl James. “We hope our many supporters will get behind the Warriors as they Fly the V proudly in Palmerston North”.

Not something that anyone has given much thought to yet Ricky. The team was literally only confirmed around midday today, so as you can imagine, the next ten days are going to be hectic.

I feel for chad ace. I would rather him in my side. I can’t see melsop doing many races over the weekend

Melsopp didn't do to bad in the challenge cup race against the nelson giants, think he may have raced for the mustangs once in the year that they had a lot of races planned with a completely different team each time
