After 10 years of repping the vest in the grand stand at teams in the same seat area every year the Arena Manawatu fun police have spoken so they have been retired to history.
Thanks to the support from the Police and all but on security guard last night. But rules are rules and you cop it in the chin. It was fun while it lasted. Arena Manawatu can't be seen letting people have fun.
To be honest in the pits we were probably some of the safest there as we could be seen.
Now to get some bright shirts made up for the next 10 year.
Bring back the Vest!!!

Yea, was warned my cowbell may not be allowed in next year (got in on both nights no issues).
Apparently, some were being confiscated at some entry gates over the two nights.
Also, was talking to an official of the track, and dress up stuff was also going to be banned next year.
Guess that's why no Elmo suit this year.

I remember them one year at the gate going through people food to determine if it was home cooked or bought from KFC , McDonalds or Pizz Hut . Thought that was a bit over the top.
Last time i took my missus it was the big frisk at the gate , checking we didnt have bottles of alcohol hidden anywhere . Checked all bags we had , then it was the missus shoulder bag that would be lucky to squeeze 2 packets of smokes in.
Then get to our pre paid seats in the grandstand to be surrounded by scores of loud mouthed , abusive , drunks. All drunk courtesy of the alcohol sold at the venue.
The fashion police crucify the wrong people.

When in every other sport crowd numbers are down. You ban the party. Well does anybody remember the wellington sevens? Teams racing is only part of it. Not all of it. You mess with the atmosphere at your previl. Do agree way more security and less rules must benter enforced and a breathe test at the gate because pre loading would be an issue. That's all I would change. More security and a breath tester at the door. Set at 4 standard drinks. More than that your turned away. |

One "team merchandise " seller had told me they had some bugles to sell, like a mouth blown air horn, they were told they couldn't fetch musical instruments in to the arena......maybe the cow bells were classed the same, shame

Now this happened to me a few years ago at Palmy and bugger me it wasn't even the superstocks. Some bloke told me to stop making a noise. Well, you all could imagine what I said.
He told me he was going to shove my horn and cowbell where the sun doesn't shine...I said good luck. Little did he know that my whole team was sitting in front of me and they said, Good Luck mate my moneys on her. I must let you know that i was standing ans so was he. The place was not packed so he could have moved as I had been there since early afternoon. For that reason I choose now not to go to Palmy, gosh imagine the riot i would start at the Superstock teams if this bloke stood next to me again.
