Should pit crew have to pay to get in? They do help put the show on, and only watch maybe 3-5 races each nite.

The fact that so many pit crew workers pay to get in week after week all over the Country shows what a bunch of legends these "Salt of the Earth" folks are. How much of the third heat carnage we love to see can be credited to the hard work of the crews getting cars back on the track. Should they pay to get in? Maybe not but that they do, makes us value them as highly as we do.

You'd think the car owner/driver would pay, wouldn't you. The main reason they ask for payment is the fact for years crews have bolstered the numbers of people getting through on the excuse of being pit crew. Don't blame the tracks for the fact that for years crews were getting bigger and walking through to sit in the stands.

I think most drivers do pay for there crew. Some tracks let in one some two and some three. Three is ideal but it should be at least two

I was always happy to pay my way when I was crewing, No you didn't get to see many races, but watching a car on track, especially when it is doing well, is a great feeling to know that your time and effort has helped get it there. Also the satisfaction of seeing the car make it out for the next race is great. These days I prefer to sit and watch, but when you see some cars getting towed off, you know the crew will be full on getting it ready to come out again.
