Not just you a number of us regular attendee's aren't their for various reasons. A few I know are saving their cash to follow the Rees South Island tour. Must be all the quiet ones that are there.
On the same note "is it just me" or do others think repechages have no place in the contact classes?

Plus puts guys that are out qualifing spots on night one into running mode as over half the group makes night two. So yeah. No place and want it gone. But as long as people want it it will stand bro.

On the same note "is it just me" or do others think repechages have no place in the contact classes? Correct. I've been saying this for years. Repechages in contact grades make zero sense. Then ppl point to the number of podium finishers who came thru the repechage like it's a good thing. You get three heats to qualify. Miss out there, well there is always next year. It makes me mad where the number of groups allows for the right number of qualifiers yet someone who finishes in the top 30 (26 or whatever it is) misses out because little Johnny who had some bad luck last night needs another chance to get thru.

And I've been disagreeing with you for years haha. You race to the format. If you have to be top 4 you know before you unload that you have to be top 4. Likewise if it's top 5 with no repecharge. I see your point when the number of groups allows the right number of qualifiers, but that's not always the case. Four groups of Superstocks doesn't equate to 26. I'd rather see a repechage to find the other two drivers than "the next two highest overall". All groups are not created equally, and when this was used I always felt like the first loser in a couple of the groups, or maybe even two losers from the same group, were getting a free passage through. And who wants to find 30 minutes after the last race you're in a run off for the 26th spot? Using your "little Johnny" analogy, why do we have repechages in any class? Any sport for that matter? There's always next year..... Barry B

I think it's a "forward thinking upper North Island" thing versus the "they eventually see the light, catch up and get on board" thing from those south of Lake Taupo. Remember how long Palmy Teams stuck with their ridiculous 50, 40, 25, 20, 10 points thing when Auckland was racing first across the line? And the criticism levelled at Auckland for turning teams racing from a team sport into one of individual speed with no action? Eventually they got it. Maybe it'll be the same with the repechage....

pretty simple mate - not good enough and not enough made the trip. Despite what is on the website numbers wise ( 108 contracted drvers - of which only around 30 ever turn up on a regular basis) I agree with a number of others that have mentioned that PNth is not full of top class stock car drivers at the moment. several who would probably go further in the class seem to spend a couple of years in stockies and move on to Supers eg David Lowe who won the Global challenge after only a few meetings in a new super. you may think i am one eyed but i am not that blind that i cant call it like it is. even in supers there are 48 registered drivers but a quick look shows around 10 who dont compete anymore and others that only front one or twice a year.

two went to v 9 and 22. Rees left for gisborne. As with 921p and 31p so that's 5 to g. 3 went to Wellys 992w 5w 669w. One went to hawkes bay 115b. Up to supers went 99p 971p 74p 75p 94p 722p 357p 557p 471p guys who stopped 119p 4p 66p 33p 81p 18p 19p 501p 510p 29p so that's about 30 half there numbers. So they only half as strong aND with 30 carsish is about the same as h.b auckland Stratford and Rotorua.
