while watching turbo channel the other night..I saw a quick article on Gull Wing configs, ...the big deal being the strength of the shape....is there any memory of gull wing in speedway in NZ.. Is it a possible answer for drivers with injuries etc that may preclude them from racing due to difficult entry and exit of the race car..

There is a simple answer, hinge the door like a normal car. I had a new Hypermac last season and while it was a great car I found it difficult to enter/exit due to the door height and having had a hip replacement which you are advised not to lift past 90 degrees. It would be simple to engineer, hinge at the front, plated as per the rules etc. I considered doing it but ended up selling the car.
