Another one of the good guys and innovators of our sport gone forever.
He will be remembered for coming oh so close to winning the NZ Superstock champs at Meeanee with his NRP Millennium chassis and sadly also for a couple of dreadful incidents at Huntly. Hope the racing yields better outcomes upstairs Vic.

Wow very sad to hear. My condolences to Blair and rest of family.
One of my favourite memories of Vic was seeing the low beast sneak out of the bus at Qualifying at the NZ title in Hawkes Bay, then watching his car show amazing pace and control, to be leading on points among a sea of Rotorua and Wellington cars intent on taking everything out.
Vic still rolled out the gate in heat 3, and I think Rodney wood got him up the wall in the 4 th lap or so after what was looking like a great run.
He built some awesome cars, and as one of the early adopters of the Toyota v8 really accelerated the shift to Japanese technology that I think has really helped the class grow again.
Thanks for the update Gordon, sad news

A quite gentleman at times who loved his sport of speedway .. Both at the Springs and at Waikaraka park the presentation was one of the best and very hard to beat even to this day .. That sound of the Toyota in the 165NRP Stockcar was at its time very hard to beat and the performance was just as equal. R I P Vic ,condolences to the family ..

Nrp165 and Pall Mall can catch up again soon and enjoy the history. I forgot to add Vic was one of the early star drivers to contribute to this board, and I always appreciated his insights he so willingly shared There’s a great link to the NRP cars on race cars MIA macgor.proboards.com/thread/3998/nrp-racecars?page=1 and History from vic and family, and hers a snapshot of the great Pall Malls comments macgor.proboards.com/thread/3998/nrp-racecars?page=1Vic started his stockcar racing around 1977, at a young age, another photo of his first car that is posted up above. And this is possibly his second car. And of course the catalyst to the Neal family being in NZ was the 1974 England Stockcar Team tour to NZ. And when Tony returned to live in NZ he became a member of the Best stockcar team.
