Heard there are a few superstocks around for a run tonight in an unofficial first practice.
Think it’s going to be a good night, and the weather where I am looks sound.
Bit of overnight rain, hopefully the track guys are able to make the most of it
Anyone out in Kaiapoi got a weather update?
Cheers in advance

Wow I must say I had a great night at the Glen.
I was very fortunate to have a pre booked family pass, and when we inevitably Arrived at 10 to rmeeting start (6pm) and followed in maybe 50 cars nose to bumper I wasn't optimistic about getting in for the first race.
With the pre paid ticket however we skipped the entire que (estimated at 400 - 500 ) and rolled straight up to the gate to scan our pass and entire with the family including the 2 and 5 y/o. So easy, in future every time I buy will be in advance from the Woodford Glen shop pre meeting.
Plenty of great food options and action galore in the super stocks
Asher Rees won the first, Shane Harwood the 2nd, anda left two laps from the end of the last. Sleeper of the night Lloyd Jenngs - nice drive.
Big hits throughout the night with the ongoing war between chch cars.
Plenty of seeking sanctuRy from many cars who thought they were in risky positions. One who DID NOT 44c Pooh Bear who despite seeing Asher coming from a mile out kept on the track, and received a massive punt of the end with both hitting turn 1 wall hard and high in a massive hit, both cars towed off but both drivers appeared to be fine which everyone around us was stoked about.
Everyone looked fast, and if the CHCH guys can put the war to bed for this meeting, there could be half a dozen Chch cars qualify and a real chance of taking a title back to Chch.
Hopefully someone can bring the teams together for a Hui before the nz title so the boys can put the best foot forward and have a decent shot at 1nz, rather than let. Northern invasion come, see, and conqour.
Expect the results of supers not up as there would have been plenty of relagations for various infringements. Probably up by now, check the lap times out
The rest of the other classes were Aldo's enjoyable! And th 20 pack of donuts went down a treat with the cuppa.
Not sure what rest of placings were, but everyone around us was interested in the action

any results ? as per the W.G results page, they give everything but the superstock results All the result are on the WG site. There were delays with results being finalised and signed off in the SuperStock grade, seems that some of the drivers spend so much time in the tower they could lap score with us.

Did I hear correctly that someone took a cheap shot at Malcolm Ngatai after the checkered flag in Heat 2?

Just saw the video of that race online and everyone is saying that is a cheap shot, how is that a cheap shot ?
Maybe a few sour grapes ??
If your on the track, moving and in an attacking position, isnt it game on ? Ngatai chose to run wide and take the other car to the wall...should have checked the mirrors before doing so.
Jamie Hamilton knows how to hit and hit hard. It wasnt after the race...but looked like Ngatai took off after chequered to get him...could be wrong as I wasnt there.
Bring on the NZs, I dont think there will be a Christchurch car on the podium as they will be too busy with their own egos 😂

Did I hear correctly that someone took a cheap shot at Malcolm Ngatai after the checkered flag in Heat 2? Was not after the chequred flag. Nothing wrong with that hit - Ngatai needed to be aware of who was behind him! Looked like Ngatai hit a stationary car in race 1 which would be a much cheaper shot that the hit Hamilton gave Ngatai. NZs are going to be great.. I thought we were in for a huge North vs South battle.. looks like it will be a c vs c battle haha. On another note, I thought the 44c Ross had retired after the Battle of the Stocks last season??

any results ? as per the W.G results page, they give everything but the superstock results Last night was the first time I have had issues with live results on WFG website in a long time. It was super saloon results and I think saloons too. WFG website is usually the benchmark for results for every other track in the country so can't complain about one night going wrong.

What was the PA like there last night? I'm surprised there's so many unsold seats, This is from the Woodford Glen site "Reserved seats must be reserved prior to the event and cannot be purchased at the gate on the day" I wonder how that's going to work out

Ngatai has been a flat track bully at the Glen for yrs ... bout time if u ask me I don’t think this accurate at all. I’ve seen Malcolm dish out and take it over the years, and keep moving forward. On another note, I thought the 44c Ross had retired after the Battle of the Stocks last season?? It was like teams racing last night - if you were spun someone was driving through you, if you were in the wall people drove through you. You could see drivers constantly looking in their mirrors, checking out who was near them. Many times different drivers from different “teams” (young and old) spun off the track at strange times, and reserved amongst clear track to get back to race speed. Entertaining, exciting, and got the crowd pumped up. Think the Nelson visitors were wondering what to do with their luck haha. I’d score it pretty even on last night between the teams, which I why I think it’s a great time to broker a peace deal prior to the NZs so everybody can focus on qualifying and bringing the title back to the Glen, as they so successfully did last time. The racers are certainly battle hardened and ready for the north island invasion! If the General Dave Evans and Gary Parkes at PN could do it, surely the CHCh team can Recon the Woodford Glen ship would be a great place to settle the beef for the NZ title at least! Also Te; 44c sort of the opposite to retire - team includes two superstocks, stockcar, and ministock

You purchase your tickets before hand, and skip all the lines and walk straight in to get bag checked and “bingo” your in. If your thinking of getting a reserved seat I would buy it online or at the shop definitely. I wouldn’t waste my time wondering how that’s going to work out, get amongst it. The place is going to be #packed#to#the#rafters The pacing of the meeting was phenomenal - I have criticised the glen on this in the past, but last night it was smooth, fast and 21 races over in 3 hours Well done to all involved.
