Ie this meeting if there is a draw for qualifying it will be decided on a countback on heat 1 not a runoff as we are used to seeing. What a rubbish idea this is for a contact grade Well that's the thing with a curfew. You can't have a run-off at midnight once all of the squabbles are over. In saying that, going back to Heat 1 is a joke. You'd be better taking whoever finished in front of the other twice over the 3 heats. Or a run-off early on Night 2. Or toss a coin. All would be better, and fairer, than a Heat 1 result. Barry B

Can rotorua give every track lessons in the offseason on how to run a meeting? π£ I'm sure this will be a great meeting. Will Tyler walker finally get a number?

I don't want to sound negative but why aren't Baypark releasing entry lists for this event or keeping people up to date with how things are going?
Leading up to the 240s the Rotorua Stockcar Club Facebook page were constantly updating entry lists with additions and drivers pulling out. As well as keeping people generally up to date on the meeting.

Groups will be released this week. and the new format in regards to run offs. basically no run offs......which is a bit of a pain as nothing beats having a run off

In fact it's not beyond the realms of possibility that Wellington could have 4 1NZ's racing in the same class for the back end of this season and start of next.

I think the run-off situation relates to qualifying not the Final, although with their curfew anything is possible. I would have thought 2 cars doing a run-off after the curfew wouldn't be an issue.

Following discussions and feedback (thanks π), we have decided to change the entry form detail for deciding who proceeds from the group heats to the championship rounds, if there is a points tie at the conclusion of the heats. The change is: If drivers are tied on points following the 3 heat races, the driver with the highest finishing place over the 3 heats will be determined as the leading driver, if the highest place is the same for the tied drivers then the 2nd highest placing will determine the outcome, and so on.

I wouldn't have thought 16 super saloons doing what was it, 2 or 3 18ish second laps would have been an issue either but turns out it was. ohh well we will just put up with 4x 1NZW's when it happens

Isn't the no run-off thing only related to qualifying? You're not getting a 1nz that easily Ramjam.

Reading all this, this meeting just sounds like complete mess..I've travelled all over this country for every major and some minor cantact classes this season and for the first time this NZ stockcar champs will be one I'm missing in a long long time. Imagine it, night one...3 heats don't get a 3rd heat..heaven forbid the final on Saturday night doesn't get run as it's like 10:20 pm .. It just sounds like a complete shambles and won't be going. Can't wait for Stratford.
