Isn't the no run-off thing only related to qualifying? You're not getting a 1nz that easily Ramjam. Barry B what if its gone 22.15?

only way i see us having a winner by 10pm is a tight turn around on finals nite. aim for 930pm at latest.(for final heat)
On a side note can we get teir 2/3 sorted properly? last 2 seasons have seen people put in wrong teir (figured out after having raced) or half grid in each teir. I realise that most is from drivers not advising if gana race nite 2 if miss out on repo, and yes its all about the finals but would be good if could have 3 full grids.

This meeting is set to be the most drivers ever to race at an snz nz champs, Its going to be a big ask for any club to try and manage/run,I beleive the team at baypark are doing the best they can to keep everyone from those involved to the paying public the best show possible,no one wants to go home disappointed from any speedway meeting, A lot has been learned from the past and hope all goes well for a good two night meeting

If everybody plays their part. And that includes the competitors too. Gridding up on the dummy grid on time when called. A bit more urgency from the crash crews won't go astray either obviously, based on the international Midget meeting, as well as starting on time. Everybody plays their part and a few minutes here and a few minutes there adds up and equals no problems. The ability to run 36-40 cars at a time means only 5 groups, meaning less qualifying races than most years. A number of people were telling me at Rotorua at the weekend that Baypark were only running 10 races on the second night. Now, I've read the entry form and I may be wrong (feel free anybody from Baypark to correct me), but the way I read the entry form is that there are 10 Stockcar races, not 10 races in total. Hopefully the information will really start to flow over the next week or so, after entries close and the groups are released. Barry B

Barry B yes i read the same, concerns me a little, if we don't make the top 3 groups due to what ever issues to then not have any racing on the second night, but if that's the case then so be it, i do see the logic in making sure all the finals get run just long way to go for 1 nights racing

Rightly. Info to date.
4 withdrawals to date, but the number has passed 200 cars/drivers.
Night 1 all Stockcars. 5 groups, 3 heats each, 40-odd cars per group, 15 Stockcar races.
Night 2, Stockcars and Golden Oldies. With the increase in entries there will now be 4 tiers on the second night, 3 heats each, plus the repechage. 13 Stockcar races (3 more than the entry form states) plus Golden Oldies. The finals will still feature a 36 car field.

Barry B now we just need drivers who decide to just watch second nite to actually tell organisers so extra teirs are full/even eg: teir 2 full grid teir 3 15 ish and teir 4 6

'cept qualifying without having to do a run off :-) Seriously tho are we going to have this silly situation of 2 1nz's and no 2nz, or 2 2nz's and no 3nz or 2 3nz's OR even worse 3 (or more) of any of the nz numbers? In fact it's not beyond the realms of possibility that Wellington could have 4 1NZ's racing in the same class for the back end of this season and start of next. I think the run-off situation relates to qualifying not the Final, although with their curfew anything is possible. I would have thought 2 cars doing a run-off after the curfew wouldn't be an issue. Its a issue for the die hards that dont want them there at all, some off those clowns would hold them to the minute , the auckland council are cutting down the big trees around the western springs so watch this space on the noise issues there

Reading all this, this meeting just sounds like complete mess..I've travelled all over this country for every major and some minor cantact classes this season and for the first time this NZ stockcar champs will be one I'm missing in a long long time. Imagine it, night one...3 heats don't get a 3rd heat..heaven forbid the final on Saturday night doesn't get run as it's like 10:20 pm .. It just sounds like a complete shambles and won't be going. Can't wait for Stratford. every heat will get run, the final will definitely be run. I think its going to be an awesome meeting, and as most nz stockcar titles is generally a crowd pleaser due to the contact i cant wait Mate there's not going to be any hitting. The track is far to wide
