Probably not so easy selecting the Wilcats. They have Robertson, 2x Leveins, Fairbrother, Davis, Parker, Gaskin & maybe Hughes to choose from??

I take my hat off to any of them who put their cars and body on the line , im darn sure i wouldnt volunteer .And theres plenty out their that talk about it but dont have the kahunas. Ryan and Mellsop may not be known blockers ,but have the right machinery to do the running and i doubt either of them would be shy at putting the bumper in.

quin ryan was part of the 2016 team that won it. harsh i know. and its only my opinion. but i dont rate the jobins enither. there are some better skilled guys in the hawkes bay with less money spent on gear better. making the finals is all well and good. and getting taken out is part of it. just feel hes a runner. but even that he struggles to do when a target. he would do well to do a season under mr wood me thinks.

Fact is , there are many good teams racers out there . But how many are willing to teams race . When you do the maths and add up the number of cars in NZ and those wanting to teams race , the numbers are slim.

remember a car bumper went into the cookpit of the 5w. so at a guess that could be the hold up. they team they want and team they have are different atm. and giving them time to sort the car out.

No disrespect to the mustangs but if these two were available they would off been in my mix for the mustangs , Bex is a very good racer but i have not really seen her deal to people , one brave lady i think to step into this arena

Unfortunately 22w Richard Gaskin has had to withdraw from the starting line up due to a rib injury sustained over the weekend at the 240’s and the uncertainty around it healing in time.

And when do entries close??? Date and time??? Promotional wise it would be awesome to see a team naming event etc. Set date and time and team reps or something similar disclose the much anticipated team list that so many wait for. Panthers not named would suggest maybe side not settled or finalised yet?? Tomorrow I'd imagine named. I had heard meetings with selectors tonight again. Probably discussing the benji snedden situation v Scott Joblin. Although Peter bengston and Wayne hemi are proven last year but form must be a concern. Hemi got disqualified from the meeting last year! His current form would suggest he's in there only because of the take it or leave it package deal he has with Dare being in the team , that's maybe why the Joblins have only offered 1 car.

Still one of my favourite moments from the Superstock Teams Champs. Carl Shearer is a great teams racer
