it's made up to suit how Bruce wants the match ups to be, it's his event so fair enough but it's not very sporting. Busters vs Rebels first up will have a lot of damage to both teams so of course the Panthers were always going to meet one of them for their first race of the night. Then they have Auckland as there safety net in the last race, if a 1 2 3 4 finish is required to get them into the semifinals then that can be arranged as we have seen. Is that you Busterbell? Barry B Some out of it comments there Beachboy , seems you are suggesting the All Stars to be easybeats . You obviously didnt follow them at last years Waikaraka Teams meeting . Upsets are common in teams racing and history suggests that anyone can win on the nite .

Im not 100% sure, but at the Teams Nationals didn't the draw get done during the Grand Parade? The format was sorted before the Parade and the number you chose was where you fitted into the format. Someone correct me if Im wrong, but seemed like a good way to do it.

Not a panthers fan but they actually have the worst draw as there are no more warm up laps between there races. So a shorter time for crews to get there cars sorted. Will also get the worst of the track conditions having the last race. and the opposition team in that final race has a different track to race on do they?

Noticed this last night. Regardless of if the draw is rigged or not, the Busters sort of came out all right. They were undefeated last year, but ended up 5th. However, this year they are the only team in the draw that does not face a seeded team. Also, as mordecai noted, they also get a 6 race break between races (some only get a 5 race break). Undefeated last year seems to have gained them an advantage this year. Though, this means Rotorua has to face teams that got 1st and 5th last year.

Barry B Good grief Barry B are you still here......... I just cruised on by to see what the latest scandal might be. Was not surprised to see a familiar theme. I suspect another familiar theme will be echoed after tomorrow's event. Devastating not to be able to cheer for the stripes this year. One can only hope results tomorrow can somewhat redeem that situation and justice served.

It’s always been a drama with this finals format, 1 of the 4 teams that did the hard work last night and made the main semis will not be seeded next year. I know why they do it as it gives incentive to the teams 5th-8th, however it makes finals races for those guys once again all about points where I firmly believe finals should be all about first across the line
