I'm not going to judge what Jason Long could or couldn't see, and I can't remember where he was in the track when the smash happened but remember with the Hans device it's impossible to look sideways, so a roll right next to you might not register to another driver. I've never thought of Long as a dirty driver who would infringe deliberately. Not that a non deliberate infringement that can change the race should go unpunished Especially after the nz champs where it was made quite clear that the rees clan look after their customers so i cant really see it being deliberate

way less hitting stationary vehicles. in fact i didnt see one at full speed. just Tarrant after a restart. Remember tho just cause a car is stationary, doesn't mean it can't be hit. Same as you can be stopped on the track for laps on end and still be part of the race, unlike in normal racing. Isn't facing up the track while against the wall not a non attacking position as in that position they aren't allowed to attack To me Tarrant was lucky to not get excluded more than the 1 race, seemed he spent a lot of time mowing lawns etc which if Hemi had of done this year would have had calls for him to be trailered & team excluded. The reds should have been thrown earlier a couple of times but I wonder if the refs can't see the middle of turn 1 & 2 very well Definitely wasn't expecting some of the results this year but they were all well deserved

Very disappointed to learn Gisborne lost the 127g to the hits on the red. A pity refs can’t see everything so don’t blame them. Time to allow video footage? Honestly, how did they not see it? Did their eyes stop at the roll over? The reds came on just after he hit the track, the hits were 20-30 mtrs later. Especially the second one from long. Spec Savers

You can't even go against the flow to get into an attacking position. So if 66b, when positioning himself was doing so legally, the prob was he could not turn to go in the race direction once he got to the wall. I agree with yr other points.

The best hit was Hemi on Dare when he rolled himself

Correct me if I'm wrong but a factor in this whole arrangement is the one-way radio's.
When racing frequently with a one way radio you become reliant on the commands over the radio more so than the track lights because you hear the command prior to seeing the track lights. You get used to hearing about a red light and following the audio command.
I believe in teams racing they rip out the one-way radio's for fear someone will hijack the system and give commands to their team members. Could an unforeseen circumstance of this be drivers missing the red light commands they are so used to hearing?

That was the race I was thinking of, second exclusion was a removal which meant he didn't get the chance to affect the result as he may have done against Wanganui
