Hopefully someone on the stream crew can tell a cameraman to try and watch the back straight when the pack comes through.
You know, when 20 cars crash into each other, rather than the 2 cars going into turn 3.
But great news we just saw a reply - well done!
Hopefully they can give us reply’s between races as well! We don’t news to see the winner, or the next Cars gridding up.
Stream quality great! Keep up the good work

Ok they did it again. Come on guys, you only need one camera on the leaders, if that! Follow the pack where the action is please! At least foot first 4 laps

Great stream but they definitely need a director with a basic knowledge of stock car racing and a link to the commentator.

Hello all...how did everyone find the quality of the stream? not what was actually shown but did the stream work ok?
I have offered to help these guys try and sort some individual issues if required.
IO am not part of the production team so cannot change the camera angles and what they actually film, but I am confidentI should be able to help you see the stream properly and without the dreaded buffering circle...as long as you do meet the following conditions
1 - Are you on fibre, ADSL or dialup. Fibre should have no issues...ADSL may have issues depending on how far you are from the exchange and what your copper wires are like. A speedtest will confirm...type speedtest into the google search bar and click the blue button. Ideally you want 10 megabits per second or more (fibre should be about 90 (unless the kids are online as well). 2 - Check for Operating system updates now....Many of these happen automagically and may start when you watch the feed if you do not use your PC much. 3 - Do a restart of your PC before trying to connect. I stress restart not shutdown and start up...Recent versions of windows try andd save what is in memory to the disk during a shutdown. This is done to speed up computer startup. A restart cleans everything out and ensures unwanted programs are properly shut down. 4 - Try and connect to your modem by a cable rather than WiFi....Think of the internet like a expressway. Your internet connection is a street and WiFi is a driveway...WiFi can only handle so much traffic....all users who connect to your wifi share the same driveway. A ethernet cable connection is basically as fast as the street in the analogy...WiFi is almost always slower. 5 - Check others using your internet connection are not streaming, gaming or downloading. Yopu can confirm this by doing a speed test when you are sure no one is doing anything on their computers then retrying if you have problems. Is the speedtest a lot lower? If so, then someone is using your internet. 6 - First thing you will be asked is toi do a restart of your PC and modem/router. I can assure you this does fix 95% of issues. It is not a cop out by IT support people. 7 - If you restart your modem/router. Please take a bit of time. Switch off..wait 30 seconds then turn on. Do not quickly switch off and back on as the router will not shutdown fully and it will be worse. Do it once and correctly first time...otherwise you will waste another 5 min to do a second restart - and miss some good action.
So to recap....if you want to ensure a good experience tonight then do the following now...
1 - Restart modem (remember to wait before turning back on) 2 - Check for updates on PC 3 - Restart PC 4 - Check Speedtest and confirm >10 5 - If in a family situation...change the Wifi password so no one else knows it, then hide - so no one can find you to get the new password and use any precious bandwidth tonight. 6 - Pray that Baypark can get through the full schedule tonight and lapscoring does work correctly 7 - Support the mighty Auckland competitors...
Hope these suggestions help
Best wishes
john

Hi John
Thanks for the support. At my end in CHCH the stream was fine - dropped out twice but came back immediately.
I ran mine through an 18 month old laptop with the updates completed. I didn’t use chrome, just the latest eat explorer.
Hopefully not sure who can help them with camera angles - if they were able to adjust to where all the action was last night and shift for looking for crashes, rather than the leader I think they would get a phenomenal response.

On facebook they have advised a couple of camera angles have been changed. Thanks John. Hopefully there’s been a couple of discussions on how to follow the race - it seems to me that the angles aren’t the issue, it’s the decision of which of the cameras to show. For instance the first 3 laps showing the leader pulling away with one other car in shot vs the pack of 30 all piling into the exit of turn 2. And heat three, trying to perhaps folllow the points leaders who might be targets, rather than the race leader - all easy to discuss in practice, possibly harder to apply, especially if yiurbused to following non contact racing, or Two cars at a time doing skids. Hopefully this discussion has been had - and if so I’ll have to give the team a second chance and invest. And one day I’ll have to get on face book - actually scratch that last bit. Good luck to all competitors, officials, cameramen and directors tonight. Going to try the free stream from invercargill South Island super saloon series at 3pm so that will be cool to compare

And even just replayed as many of the big hits they got from tonight!
Well done on listening to the fans and showing a massive improvement on night 2 Kiwi Motorsport media.
You would just about like footage from every single camera from the heat 3 since there was that much action! So much happened every corner.
31 started heat 3 13 finished. Awesome stuff to all finalists
