well done stratford on a well run and organised meeting when I saw it was a 1 day meeting I wasn't sure how that was gona go as in tame racing BUT it was anything but it was brutal racing seeing all the repairs during the break was fantastic as we don't normally see all that hard work and well done to the stratford team on going back to back

Stratford is one of the unsung heroes in getting things done. Week in and week out they always have a competitors list out for all class's racing . 015/016 season when they held the NZ Super Stock title, rained on the Fri, qualifying Sat night, final Sun arvo and all over by 6pm. This year for the stock car national teams, again rain Fri, qualifying midday sat, finals at usual time sat night. Only a club with confidence in it's self could pull off the almost impossible and the meetings tick over like a swiss watch. Well done Stratford and of course all the competitors, with out them there would be no meeting no matter how organised you are.

I'll second that. It was a great meeting even though it was a marathon thanks to the weather. Great decision making and efficiency from the club and officials, the commentators were up there too. Hats off to all the drivers , whether they won or not, they produced a heck of a spectacle that had everyone pumped every race. ........and the livestream was ace too.
Well done everyone involved.

I too had my doubts, but watching it via the livestream, I couldn't fault it. the action was superb, the teams liveries were awesome, the racing was second to none. the only bug-bear I have and its purely on a personal level, so it thru no fault of Stratford, Tonkin just annoys the fecal matter out me. The way he talks over the others, but doesn't add anything of value, the way he sits back and then bursts in to life but doesn't add anything to the team. Hickey, Mintie and the other guy were awesome - but the other guy.....
Anyway congrats to all involved, Stratford pulled one out of the bag!!

I was the "other guy" in the com box with mintie and billy out and about. Dont normally comment on the commentry but what Roger was doing was what we wanted him to do. Sit back, enjoy the spectical, and throw us his legend one liner Wows! Watching Roger after stratford won on their home track was awesome he was proud as punch as a stratford icon should be.

My only little snipe is the semi finals draw. NOT saying it was wrong!
The finals night draw was done on seedings, 1-8. 1v8, 2v7, 3v4 etc. First round was laid out as should be.
Second round in the same format is(should have been) winner of 1v8 to meet winner of 4v5 winner of 2v7 to meet winner of 3v6
This is done by 1v8 4v5 3v6 2v7
Rest of the contest was just O for awesome!

And only the second round in the finals. Quarters should have been 1v8 4v5 3v6 2v7 Then the semis are 1/8v4/5 3/6v2/7 This how seeded formats formulas are set out. What happened is a normal mistake, have seen it plenty in martial art comps.

No official source to go with i dont know if the kihikihi result got changed and the there points didnt putting them outside the 8. and auckland in. guess thats what happens when you dont release office points. questions are asked.seems to be way less arguing than there gisbourne one. which also involed palmy irony.

Roger is an absolute legend and I wish there was more commentators like him. He is intensely passionate about the sport of speedway and the Stratford club, AND he knows what he is talking about in terms of cars, drivers, etc. (Unlike some I have heard at other tracks who prattle on and don’t know a production saloon from a superstock!). And don’t forget his profession for many years was on the radio! Remember at this meeting he had all the other guys doing the main gig and he was just adding in as required. Unlike a normal meeting where he is it. The place wasn’t the same when he was away for a while.

Jase, did you guys stream in HD, i was watching on an older tv and some of the pic quality was pretty than real life - bloody well done.

Must compliment the track on it's efficiency
Hot Laps + 13 qualifying teams races all done and dusted just after 3pm
