I am pretty sure Mrs Hancock does NOT have terminal cancer ..she has Breast cancer ..I know that is terrible enough and I’m not trying to dilute any cancer as it’s all nutse ...

Anyone else think qualifying in the SGP is a waste of time. One third of the field weren't even in attendance yesterday morning, including the big names. The track changed so much including a grading and water break after just 5 bikes qualified individually. Even the TV hosts looked a bit embarrassed by the whole charade.

Yeah agreed Ramjam. Initially thought it might be something interesting and useful tactically etc, but after seeing 2....nup. Bat-nuts boring and adds nothing.

Maybe if they did it on the morning of the GP it might be more worthwhile, however with the Polish league on the night before it's always going to be hard to fit it in. I think its good letting the riders choose their gates rather than random draw. Just got to fix the timing of it. SEC starts next week which puts even more demands on the riders time to fit all the racing in. Maybe in a few years they may have to go into tiers much like darts did.

With Woofy, Hancock and Magic all missing GP's already this season I would suggest that the wild cards for next year are done and dusted.

Nasty looking crash for Woffinden in Heat 1 of his Polish club meeting. Looks like he'll miss a minimum of two rounds. Agree on the Wildcards.

Will they give Hancock a free pass? It would be solely for sentimental reasons if they do. Couldn't they just give him a job for life as SGP Ambassador or something. Surely the US market isn't so large for SGP that they NEED him. I know that sounds harsh but the class and quality coming out of Europe now surely means they would be better burning a wildcard on a younger rider.

Depends on what path his wife's health takes as to when (or if) Greg comes back to the track. Monster's 'Speedway' Joe is very close to Greg and Monster is one of Greg's main backers so you never know.

It was a brilliant GP. Prob one of the best I've seen, not to mention a very well deserved winner.

It's the best I can recall seeing......although my recollection isn't what it once was, ha!! EVERY heat was close, exciting and with passing, with riders able to go from first to last and back to first again. A real showcase for speedway, and it shows what can happen with the talent, but in this case enhanced by the track and track prep. If only every round was like this.....
