really looking forward to this series, been a big fan off mods since ages ago! best of luck for it. gotta agree with Tapped. What a great looking series. The chance to see Dan Rae and Brad Lane going has to head 3 times before the NZ champs will be something to see. I would think those two exciting drivers would normally struggle to meet each other 3 times in a season, never mind 3 times in a couple of months, and on a slightly banked track! Awesome. Well done to joe17w for being the front man for the series. Good work all round to those organising the deal. To have a firm commitment from the calibre of drivers they have have this early is an awesome effort.

Any series is great for any class.
John and Chris Lovelady ran the ICI Autocolor Series for Mods in the 90s and it did wonders for the numbers. This will be an absolute boon for the class and I for one will be lapping up every bit of it. Even talked the missus into jumping on the ferry for each round!!
Good luck to everyone involved!!!

Well done Jonas + team for putting this together! The thought that we might see solid fields of Mods three times before the NZ title even happens is pretty exciting. The big one for me will be fireworks night as that will be a chance for the drivers to show what the class can be like to a big captive audience, who will be used to only seeing 5-6 Mods on track..
Looking at the website a lot of thought has clearly gone into every part of this, there is even a write up on every single driver.
The next thing to watch is how many new/old W cars can this entice out of the shed? I see 23W Dean Owens is back in the ex Ward J&J - could we see 15W and 36W make returns (+ hopefully 57W who raced last season).

A MASSIVE pat on the back to the guys from Garage16 Media who have jumped onboard and taken my vision and helped multiply it by a trillion, they are doing soo much and it has let me concentrate on making sure my own car is all set to go before the beginning of the season.
The series still has a few advertising packages available, if that is something you could be intrestes in get intouch with the Garage16 Media guys, there are some great benifits for the businesses getting involved.
This feild should get even the least enthused spectator on their feet aswell as draw in new spectators and maybe even convert a few people to be Modified fans!!
Thanks to the Wellington Club we were very lucky to secure Fireworks Night which will allow us to showcase our Class and New Series to hopefully a fully packed house come November 2nd for Round 1.
The idea of trying to boost the field is hopefully enough encouragment for a few more guys to give this awesome class a go. Currently we are in the unfortunate circle were people want to get into it but say "there isnt enough cars" or " they dont race very often" , if each of those people bit the bullet and gave it a go we could see 12-15 car fields on club nights.
NZ Modified Champs 18th & 19th Jan (sat/sun) Wellington Family Speedway.

Hi Tigersfan
From Garage 16 "Thanks for your comment and its one of the first public question we have had around driver selection so equally a good chance to explain. We undertook a draw out of the hat system to complete the majority of invites as there was so many good drivers to try and choose from. Being our first shot at this we want to work within our limits at 15 drivers, do a good job of it by not going to big to fast, prove its viable for sponsors and most of all put on a good show for everyone. Next year we'll see if we can open it up to entries and keep this series growing. Hope that makes sense & feel free to keep the comments coming in. Enjoy the series........."
Hope this helps.

You guys are doing some great stuff with this! Keep up the awesome work, I have enjoyed the interviews to date, and some of that classic footage from Newton and the early days of modifieds was priceless
Look forward to watching this one in the next week or so
