From the Elite Mechanical New Zealand Superstock Championship Facebook page (this will make Maninstand happy!):
Just THREE days to go until the Elite Mechanical New Zealand Superstock Championship, and we've had LOTS of questions about parking for the event, so here goes:
Mobility Parking - an area has been reserved near the main public gate at the city end of the track for mobility card holders. There is no charge for this parking.
Public Parking - There is very limited public parking in the grounds of Oceanview Speedway, and this will be filled on a first-in-first-served basis. When this is full, there are four designated off-road carparks as follows:
1) Opposite the main Oceanview entry gates
2) Opposite the public gates at the Airport end
3) Opposite the Airport Terminal (on the hill)
4) Through the Army Camp at South Beach
These Public Parking areas will be staffed by local Rotary Club members. The cost for parking in these areas is $5 per vehicle, and funds raised will be used by Rotary for local youth projects. These parking areas will open at 3pm.
There will be regular security and Police patrols of these car parks, however those using them do so at their own risk. A 12-seater van will be running from the South Beach car park to ferry people to the public gates. The other car parks are all within a few minutes walk of the public gates.
Please do NOT use the gravel road for access to Oceanview Speedway. A traffic management plan will be in place, and the only access will be via Airport Road. Please factor this in to your plans, and arrive in plenty of time. Please note; the Grand Parade on Friday night will take place at 6pm, and the Grand Parade of the Top 25 on Saturday night will be at 6.30pm, immediately before the repecharge to decide to 26th qualifier.
