Interested to know what his top performances are....? What years has his team won the Teams Champs ? Has he been the stand out driver over the 2 nights ? What individual titles has he won ? Dont get me wrong, I like seeing him out there but he has a long way to go to be the legend your making him !!! Fact is, some cars/drivers can take the hits and keep going at 100%... Even in the final at Huntly in November the tank spent most of it's time on the infield. Roll on Feb !!! 😁 Its not all about what he has won. His commitment to teams racing is outstanding and never backs off in a teams race . If hes not in a Palmy team he will put his hand up for another. Ron has been around for many moons and is very consistent and shows what stockcars and superstocks were intended to do . Hes a legend in my eyes and for you to belittle the man is just plain rude . I think at the end of the day it all comes down to how reliable his car is and it just does not seem to be as reliable as others and can't take more than a couple of hits without stopping. I agree he is probably one of the most committed people in the country to teams racing, but a committed team member sitting in his car that has taken a hit and won't go anymore or a committed team member sitting in his car on the infield cause his battery died is not going to do the Panthers any good come Feb.

Im pretty sure Ron was with the Allstars. I'm not sure if he's the same Ron Tye but I was there when a Ron Tye (99W) was part of the Wildcats when they won in Auckland many, many years go (1990's). He didn't run in the final but he rolled Neville Stanaway in the semi when the race looked all but over for the Wildcats. Same guy or a son???

pretty sure he was part of the pumas who took a 3 peat in the stockcar teams new zealand title and the peter barry back to back teams. lead the all stars to victoey over the panthers as well. in a semi final at auckland team nats. seems to be ledgend status to me? or it doesnt count because it was a stockcar? Still not good enough for some people mate .. Guess Peter Rees isnt a legend either to some of the same lol.

Whereabouts do you think Dark side of the moon. But really I think the Palmy club need to tell Hemi no more black mail,. if you won't let us have Dare race in the Panthers or Mustangs without having to take you as well then we don't want the Red Wakas at all. Do you think that honestly goes on ?? and where is your proof that it does ,or is it just like the rest of your comments share speculation . I dont honestly think you will ever see the dark side of the moon ,as you are to bright under the moon light .... Perhaps we should leave this thread and go up the page to the 2020 superstock palmy teams meeting .

don,t think so,those young guns need experience and that,s what shearer & johnson can give, although 84s has had a lot of teams experience in the stockcar class, but this is a different kettle of fish and what great teams racing winning experience can shearer and Johnson give? 75s & 52s have been to the ring of fire many times, what about the other 4,zilch
